Electronic properties and high-pressure behavior of wolframite-type CoWO4

2021

In this work we characterize wolframite-type CoWO4 under ambient conditions and under compression up to 10 GPa, with emphasis on its electronic structure. X-Ray diffraction and vibrational experiments, supported by ab initio calculations, show that CoWO4 is stable under high-pressure conditions, as no structural changes are detected in the studied pressure range. Interesting findings come from optical absorption spectroscopy. On the one hand, CoWO4 is confirmed to have one of the lowest band gaps among similar wolframites, around 2.25 eV. Intrinsic Nature of the Excess Electron Distribution at theTiO2(110)Surface

The gap state that appears upon reduction of TiO2 plays a key role in many of titania's interesting properties but its origin and spatial localization have remained unclear. In the present work, the TiO2(110) surface is reduced in a chemically controlled way by sodium adsorption. By means of resonant photoelectron diffraction, excess electrons are shown to be distributed mainly on subsurface Ti sites strikingly similar to the defective TiO2(110) surface, while any significant contribution from interstitial Ti ions is discarded. Modified electro-optical absorption and emission methods were used to measure the dipole moments of six coumarin fluorescent probes (CU1, CU4, CU7, CU30, CU120, CU334) in the equilibrated ground, excited Franck-Condon and equilibrated excited states. The measurements were performed in cyclohexane and dioxane at room temperature. The equilibrated ground and excited states dipole measured by electro-optical methods are compared with those derived from other measurements techniques and from semiempirical calculations. Abstract The T-coloring problem is, given a graph G = (V, E), a set T of nonnegative integers containing 0, and a ‘span’ bound s ⩾ 0, to compute an integer coloring f of the vertices of G such that |f(ν) − f(w)| ∉ T ∀νw ∈ E and max f − min f ⩽ s. This problem arises in the planning of channel assignments for broadcast networks. The Use of the Wavelet Approximation Signal as a Tool for the Diagnosis of Rotor Bar Failures

The method focuses on the study of an approximation signal resulting from the wavelet decomposition of the startup stator current. The optical flow is an important tool for problems arising in the analysis of image sequences. Flow fields generated by various existing solving techniques are often noisy and partially incorrect, especially near occlusions or motion boundaries.
