Perfi les Fenomenológicos de Evocación Autobiográfica en Individuos con Depresión

2017

Autobiographical memories are deeply linked with emotional regulation processes and self-concept. Conversely, in case of affective disorders, the access to specific phenomenological components would be impaired. Intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out, involving 94 individuals with major depression and 188 healthy individuals in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The phenomenological components of significant autobiographical recollections were contrasted, considering their quantity and intensity. In addition, the depressive individuals' performances were compared according to the presence or absence of previous depressive episodes, psychopharmacological treatment and sever…

Pre-school social abilities: Construction and validation of a scale for children in contexts of poverty

2009

High Five Model: The High Factors are Associated with Low-Risk of Medical, Mental and Personality Diseases

2017

Global Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Stroke Volumes and Cerebrovascular Events: One-Year Follow-up

2023

Background and objectives: Declines in stroke admission, intravenous thrombolysis, and mechanical thrombectomy volumes were reported during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a paucity of data on the longer-term effect of the pandemic on stroke volumes over the course of a year and through the second wave of the pandemic. We sought to measure the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the volumes of stroke admissions, intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), and mechanical thrombectomy over a one-year period at the onset of the pandemic (March 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021) compared with the immediately preceding year (March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020). A biphasic calcium phosphate coating for potential drug delivery affects early osseointegration of titanium implants.

2016

Background Calcium phosphate (CaP) surface coatings may accelerate osseointegration and serve as a drug delivery system for mineral-binding biomolecules. In a pilot study, the impact of a commercially available, thin CaP coating on early osseous bone remodeling was compared with a modern, subtractive-treated rough surface (SLA-like) in an animal trial. Methods In 16 rabbits, 32 endosseous implants (CaP; n = 16, SLA-like; n = 16) were bilaterally inserted in the proximal tibia after randomization. After 2 and 4 weeks, bone-implant contact (BIC;%) in the cortical (cBIC) and the trabecular bone (sBIC) as well as volume of bone within the screw thread with the highest amount of new-formed bone …

Abstract 1690: Differential autophagy activation in KRAS and EGFR mutant lung adenocarcinomas.

2013

Abstract Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in western countries, and adenocarcinomas (LADs) are the most frequent histological subtype. The aberrant activation of the kinases promotes plethora of tumorigenic processes, mainly through PI3K and MAPK oncogenic pathways leading to oncogene addiction. The activation of PI3K pathway deregulates mTOR, a master kinase for cell growth and autophagy. Autophagy can be pro- or anti- tumorigenic, however its roles in protecting tumors exposed to metabolic stress under chemotherapy are considered as a survival mechanism for the tumors leading to acquired resistance. Consequently, the inhibition of autophagy is an attractive therapy to pre…

Trabectedin-Related Liver Toxicity in Soft Tissue Sarcoma Patients: Always a Good Reason to Discontinue the Treatment?

2014

ABSTRACT Aim: A transient increase in liver enzymes is a well described side effect developed by almost 40% of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) patients treated with trabectedin, often leading to treatment delays or discontinuation. We retrospectively analysed the correlation between trabectedin-related liver toxicity and treatment outcome. Methods: Data from a total of 113 patients receiving trabectedin administered at the dose of 1.5 mg/m2 iv 24 hours in 3 reference centers were evaluated. This exploratory analysis was performed to assess the impact of liver toxicity (grade 3-4 AST and ALT increases) on the trabectedin efficacy and outcome in STS patients. All the patients included had metastati…

Divergently Transcribed Overlapping Genes Expressed in Liver and Kidney and Located in the 11p15.5 Imprinted Domain

1998

Human chromosomal band 11p15.5 has been shown to contain genes involved in the development of several pediatric and adult tumors and in Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome (BWS). Overlapping P1 artificial chromosome clones from this region have been used as templates for genomic sequencing in an effort to identify candidate genes for these disorders. PowerBLAST identified several matches with expressed sequence tags (ESTs) from fetal brain and liver cDNA libraries. Northern blot analysis indicated that two of the genes identified by these ESTs encode transcripts of 1-1.5 kb with predominant expression in fetal and adult liver and kidney. With RT-PCR and RACE, full-length transcripts were isolated f…
