The preventive archaeological excavations conducted by Inrap under the direction of Édith Peytremann in 2010, in the commune of Pfulgriesheim in the Kochersberg region, led to the discovery of a settlement sector occupied from the middle of the 7th century to the end of the 11th century. The singularity of the site lies in the absence of any pole constructions and the subdivision of the sector, from the 10th century onwards, by building on cellars associated with excavated huts, pits, and silos. The etiology of overweight and obesity is a mixture of genetic determinants, environmental factors and health behaviors. Especially intra- and interpersonal inactive behaviors, here termed convenience seems to play an important role. The objective was to develop and validate the Convenience Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) to assess convenience-related items and their association with overweight and obesity in a large population. A sample of 1233 subjects aged 18 to 82 years from six population groups took part in a self-administered questionnaire. Summary What is already known about this subject Genome-wide association studies have identified susceptibility loci, conferring only small effects to obesity. We selected 12 from the most accepted susceptibility genes to overweight, which have been corroborated in different populations and series of thousands of adult individuals. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms variants can have a cumulative effect on common forms of obesity, to create a genetic risk score.
