The negative interpretation of body sensations (e.g., as sign of a severe illness) is a crucial cognitive process in pathological health anxiety (HA). However, little is known about the nature and the degree of automaticity of this interpretation bias. We applied an implicit association test (IAT) in 20 subjects during functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate behavioral and neural correlates of implicit attitudes towards symptom words. Este artículo se propone narrar algunos aspectos del recorrido realizado por un grupo psicoterapéutico constituido por mujeres de edad avanzada y que lleva, hasta la actualidad, diez años de funcionamiento. Tomando como punto de partida esta experiencia, se desarrollan estos cuatro tópicos: el tratamiento grupal como una elección adecuada en las crisis vitales de la edad avanzada, algunas características de esta etapa evolutiva, las particularidades que la misma adquiere en un país como el nuestro y, finalmente, algunos prejuicios sobre la vejez que resultan obstaculizadores en el trabajo profesional con este tipo de pacientes.
Mathematics Competence Level: The Contribution of Non-symbolic and Spatial Magnitude Comparison Skills.

Magnitude comparison skills have been related to mathematics competence, although results in this area vary. The current study aimed to describe the performance of 75 children (aged 4-5 years) in two comparison tasks; and examine the strength of the relationship between each of the two tasks and mathematics competence level (MCL). Participants were assessed with the Early Numeracy Test which provides a global MCL score. Magnitude comparison skills were assessed with two tasks: a non-symbolic number comparison task and a spatial comparison task. The present study aims to estimate the presence of current and lifetime psychiatric disorders among female inmates. Secondary aims are to evaluate the correlation between a current psychiatric disorder and other variables, and the association with a psycho-pharmacotherapy and a request for a clinical psychological interview. Prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in a sample of brazilian university professors

O docente integra um grupo de risco para o desenvolvimento da Síndrome de Burnout (SB). Este estudo investigou a prevalência da SB em 169 professores universitários da cidade de Piracicaba-SP, por meio do Questionário de Avaliação para a Síndrome de Burnout (CESQT versão brasileira). O valor de consistência interna alfa de Cronbach foi satisfatório para todas as dimensões do questionário. Os resultados mostraram que 11,2% dos professores apresentaram Perfil 1 e 3% Perfil 2 da SB.
