Ruthenium and Osmium Complexes of Phosphine-Porphyrin Derivatives as Potential Bimetallic Theranostics: Photophysical Studies
2015
A series of (η6-p-cymene)ruthenium(II)- and osmium(II) complexes of porphyrin-phosphane derivatives have been synthesized as potential bimetallic theranostic candidates. The photophysical and electrochemical properties were investigated, and these species desirably exhibit no or almost no photoinduced intramolecular atom, energy, and electron transfer between the dye and the metallic fragment. These favorable features are mostly associated with the presence of their long chain (i.e., ∼ 1 nm) separating the two functional units. Interestingly, a decrease in emission intensity and lifetimes (up to 35-fold) has been observed, which was ascribed to a small heavy atom effect. This effect is poss…
Evidence of basaltic magma intrusions in a trachytic magma chamber at Pantelleria (Italy)
2012
In the last 50 ka basalts have erupted outside the margin of the young caldera on the island of Pantelleria. The inner portion of the caldera has instead been filled by trachyte lavas, pantellerite lavas and pumice fall deposits. This paper focuses on a low-volume benmoreite lava topping the trachyte lava pile in the middle of the young caldera. The mineral chemistry, including trace elements in clinopyroxene (LA-ICP-MS), suggests that benmoreite is a hybrid product resulting from mixing between a trachytic magma and a basaltic end member even more primitive than those erupted during the past 50 ka. The principal inference is that basaltic magmas intruded the trachytic magma chamber below t…
Spin Crossover and Paramagnetic Behaviour in Two-Dimensional Iron(II) Coordination Polymers with Stilbazole Push–Pull Ligands
2009
The suitability of the stilbazole push–pull ligands, 4′-dimethylaminostilbazole (DMAS) and 4′-diethylaminostilbazole (DEAS), for the construction of bimetallic FeII–AgI/AuI cyanide-based coordination polymers that exhibit spin crossover properties is investigated. The structural and physical characterization of four novel two-dimensional FeII polymers formulated as {Fe(DMAS)2[Ag(DMAS)(CN)2]2} (1) and {Fe(L)2[M(CN)2]2} (L = DMAS, M = Au (2); DEAS, Ag (3); DEAS, Au (4)) is reported. Polymers 1 and 4 are paramagnetic over the whole range of temperatures studied (5–300 K), whereas 2 and 3 exhibit spin crossover properties.
Indication of electron neutrino appearance from an accelerator-produced off-axis muon neutrino beam
2011
The T2K experiment observes indications of $\nu_\mu\rightarrow \nu_e$ appearance in data accumulated with $1.43\times10^{20}$ protons on target. Six events pass all selection criteria at the far detector. In a three-flavor neutrino oscillation scenario with $|\Delta m_{23}^2|=2.4\times10^{-3}$ eV$^2$, $\sin^2 2\theta_{23}=1$ and $\sin^2 2\theta_{13}=0$, the expected number of such events is 1.5$\pm$0.3(syst.). Under this hypothesis, the probability to observe six or more candidate events is 7$\times10^{-3}$, equivalent to 2.5$\sigma$ significance. At 90% C.L., the data are consistent with 0.03(0.04)$<\sin^2 2\theta_{13}<$ 0.28(0.34) for $\delta_{\rm CP}=0$ and a normal (inverted) hierarchy.
Apport des réalités virtuelles et augmentées dans la planification et le suivi in situ de travaux de rénovation.
2013
This dissertation presents the evaluation of an onsite augmented reality tool and its relevance for helping construction agents to prepare and monitor the progress of a building's construction or renovation through a mobile device. The case study focuses on virtual renovation works regarding an ancient window –dated eighteenth century- in a room of the Cluny (Saone et Loire, France) abbey buildings. The study aims at comparing the efficiency and the precision of users' behavior in four situations while performing identical sets of tasks. Three methods related to the ICT uses of onsite AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) guided the experiment: the first method focuses on paper-b…
Structural characterization of Pd-Ag and Pd-Cu bimetallic catalysts by means of EXAFS, WAXS and XPS
2000
Bimetallic Pd-Ag and Pd-Cu pumice-supported catalysts have been synthesized following different preparation procedures with the aim of improving the selectivity and reactivity of monometallic Pd/pumice systems. The structural characterization, carried out by X-ray Diffraction, X-ray Absorption and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, allowed to investigate the importance of the preparation procedures in the alloy formation.
WiseNET : an indoor multi-camera multi-space dataset with contextual information and annotations for people detection and tracking
2019
Nowadays, camera networks are part of our every-day life environments, consequently, they represent a massive source of information for monitoring human activities and to propose new services to the building users. To perform human activity monitoring, people must be detected and the analysis has to be done according to the information relative to the environment and the context. Available multi-camera datasets furnish videos with few (or none) information of the environment where the network was deployed. The proposed dataset provides multi-camera multi-space video sets along with the complete contextual information of the environment. The dataset regroups 11 video sets (composed of 62 sin…
Morphological variability in and distributional data on phaleria bimaculata populations from islands of the central mediterranean area
2011
This study aimed to collect new taxonomic and distribution data on Phaleria bimaculata (L.) (Coleoptera Tenebrionidae) from Sicily (southern Italy), the circum-Sicilian islands and the Maltese archipelago. Particular attention was paid to the diagnostic morphological features observed in the populations sampled, focusing on the subspecies Phaleria bimaculata marcuzzii Aliquò. P. bimaculata individuals were collected from 20 different locations, of which 2 were located in the Sicilian mainland, 9 in circum-Sicilian islands and 9 in the Maltese Islands. In addition, four Phaleria acuminata Kuster populations were also recorded along southern Sicilian shores. The two Phaleria species were neve…
