Characterization of complexes formed between [Me2Sn(IV)]2+ and carboxymethylcelluloses.

Complexes formed between carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and the [Me(2)Sn(IV)]2+ cation have been prepared in the solid state and characterized by FTIR and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The complexes contained CMC with varying molar weight and degree of carboxylation, and the complexes were isolated both from acidic and from neutral solutions at varying metal-to-ligand ratios. The characteristic vibration bands of the ligands were identified from their pH-dependent FTIR spectra. In the organotin(IV) complexes obtained at pH approximately 2, the -COO- moieties were found to be coordinated in a monodentate manner, and the band characteristic of the protonated (unbound) -COO- group(s) was also identifi…

Abstract The preparation, crystal structures and magnetic properties of two copper(II) complexes with di-2-pyridylamine (dpa) as end-cap ligand and azide (1) and cyanate (2) as bridging groups, [Cu(dpa)(N3)2]n (1) and [Cu2(dpa)2(NCO)4] (2), are reported. Compound 1 consists of uniform chains of copper(II) ions bridged by single μ-1,1-azido groups whereas that of compound 2 is made up of centrosymmetric dicopper(II) units with double μ-1,1-N-cyanate bridges, the other two cyanate groups acting as terminal ligands. Preparation and structural characterization of Ph3Sn(IV)+ complexes with pyridinecarboxylic acids or hydroxypyridene, -pyrimidine and –quinoline.

A number of [Ph3Sn(IV)](+) complexes formed with ligands containing -OH (-C=O), or -COOH group(s) and aromatic IN) donor atom have been prepared. The binding sites of the ligands were identified by FT-IR spectroscopic measurements. In the complexes containing hydroxy and carboxylate functions, the carboxylato group is coordinated to the organotin(IV) centres in monodentate or bridging bidentate manner. It was also found that in the hydroxypyridine and -pyrimidine complexes the [Ph3Sn(IV)]+ moiety in most cases reacts with the phenolic form of the ligands. Abstract The organotin(IV) compounds Me2SnCl2(dbtp)(1), Me2SnCl2(dbtp)2 (2), Et2SnCl2(dbtp) (3), Et2SnCl2(dbtp)2 (4), Et2SnCl2(dptp) (5), nBu2SnCl2(dbtp)2 (6), nBu2SnCl2(dptp) (7), Ph2SnCl2(dbtp) (8), Ph2SnCl2(EtOH)2(dptp)2 (9), where dbtp = 5,7-di-tert-butyl-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine and dptp = 5,7-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazolo [1,5-a]pyrimidine, have been tested by MTT for their cytotoxic activity on three tumor cell lines, HepG2 (human hepatocellular carcinoma), HeLa (human cervix adenocarcinoma) and MCF-7 (human breast cancer). Biomimetic Mn-catalases based on dimeric manganese complexes in mesoporous silica for potential antioxidant agent

Two new structural and functional models of the Mn-catalase with formula [{Mn(III)(bpy)(H2O)}(μ-2-MeOC6H4CO2)2(μ-O){Mn(III)(bpy)(X)}]X, where X = NO3 (1) and ClO4 (2) and bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction. In both cases, a water molecule and an X ion occupy the monodentate positions. The magnetic properties of these compounds reveal a weak antiferromagnetic behavior (2J = -2.2 cm(-1) for 1 and -0.7 cm(-1) for 2, using the spin Hamiltonian H = -2J S1·S2) and negative zero-field splitting parameter DMn (-4.6 cm(-1) and -3.0 cm(-1) for 1 and 2, respectively). Abstract A Cu(ll) complex with mepirizole: 4-methoxy-2-(5-methoxy-3-methyl-pyrazoll-yl)-6-methylpyrimidine (L) and oxalate as ligands with the formula [CuL(C2O4)(H2O)]·H2O has been synthesized.
