Europe’s offshore winds assessed from SAR, ASCAT and WRF
2019
Abstract. Europe’s offshore wind resource mapping is part of the New European Wind Atlas (NEWA) international consortium effort. This study presents the results of analysis of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) ocean wind maps based on Envisat and Sentinel-1 with a brief description of the wind retrieval process and Advanced SCATterometer (ASCAT) ocean wind maps. The wind statistics at 10m and 100m height using an extrapolation procedure involving simulated long-term stability over oceans is presented for both SAR and ASCAT. Furthermore, the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) offshore wind atlas of NEWA is presented. This has 3 km grid resolution with data every 30 minutes during 30 years f…

Mechanisms of Resistance to Ceftolozane/Tazobactam in Pseudomonas aeruginosa : Results of the GERPA Multicenter Study
2020
ABSTRACT Resistance mechanisms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to ceftolozane/tazobactam (C/T) were assessed on a collection of 420 nonredundant strains nonsusceptible to ceftazidime (MIC > 8 μg/ml) and/or imipenem (>4 μg/ml), collected by 36 French hospital laboratories over a one-month period (the GERPA study). Rates of C/T resistance (MIC > 4/4 μg/ml) were equal to 10% in this population (42/420 strains), and 23.2% (26/112) among the isolates resistant to both ceftazidime and imipenem. A first group of 21 strains (50%) was found to harbor various extended-spectrum β-lactamases (1 OXA-14; 2 OXA-19; 1 OXA-35; 1 GES-9; and 3 PER-1), carbapenemases (2 GES-5; 1 IMP-8; and 8 VIM-2), or both (1 VIM-2…
Switching Frequency Effects on the Efficiency and Harmonic Distortion in a Three-Phase Five-Level CHBMI Prototype with Multicarrier PWM Schemes: Expe…
2022
The current climatic scenario requires the use of innovative solutions to increase the production of electricity from renewable energy sources. Multilevel Power Inverters are a promising solution to improve the penetration of renewable energy sources into the electrical grid. Moreover, the performance of MPIs is a function of the modulation strategy employed and of its features (modulation index and switching frequency). This paper presents an extended and experimental analysis of three-phase five-level Cascaded H-Bridges Multilevel Inverter performance in terms of efficiency and harmonic content considering several MC PWM modulation strategies. In detail, the CHBMI performance is analyzed …
Position paper - progress towards standards in integrated (aerobic) MBR modelling.
2020
Membrane bioreactor (MBR) models are useful tools for both design and management. The system complexity is high due to the involved number of processes which can be clustered in biological and physical ones. Literature studies are present and need to be harmonized in order to gain insights from the different studies and allow system optimization by applying a control. This position paper aims at defining the current state of the art of the main integrated MBR models reported in the literature. On the basis of a modelling review, a standardized terminology is proposed to facilitate the further development and comparison of integrated membrane fouling models for aerobic MBRs. ispartof: WATER …
In-Vitro Investigation of Fatigue and Fracture Behavior of Transmucosal versus Submerged Bone Level Implants Used in Fixed Prosthesis
2021
Background: The present in vitro study aimed to investigate the fatigue performance of different dental fixtures in two different emergence profiles. Biological failures are frequently reported because the problem canonly be solved by replacing a failing implant with a new one. Clinicians addressed minor mechanical failures, such as bending, loosening or the fracture of screws, abutment, or the entire prosthesis, by simply replacing or fixing them. Methods: Transmucosal and submerged bone-level dental implants underwent fatigue strength tests (statical and dynamical performance) by a standardized test: UNI EN ISO 14801:2016. Two types of emergence profiles (Premium sub-crestal straight impl…
Definition of performance requirements and test cases for offshore/subsea winch drive systems with digital hydraulic motors
2019
Abstract A subsea crane is normally mounted on a floating vessel and equipped with a winch system. The crane can operate in water down to 3000 m. The vessel tends to move up and down due to waves. This heave motion makes offshore lifting operations challenging. In order to ease the winch operation in rough sea, the winch can be equipped with additional systems like active heave compensation and constant tension. In active heave compensation and constant tension system, both motion and force control of the winch are important. This paper presents a digital displacement winch drive system and gives a description of challenges related to subsea lifting operations. The operation challenges are …
Améliorer les effets anti-tumoraux des lymphocytes T folliculaires helper (Tfh) en ciblant la communication intercellulaire entre Tfh et Th2.
2019
It is now accepted that the immune system plays a critical role in cancers evolution (Hanahan et al., 2011). In this context, current understanding of the adaptive immune response made it a prime target. T CD4 cells, the main players of the adaptive immune system component, are known to possess distinct roles in the control of tumour growth. Thereby, Th2 and Tfh cells, both known to activate B cells in pathogenic infections, present antagonistic roles in cancer. Indeed, numerous studies demonstrate that Th2 cells are correlated with disease progression (especially via IL-4 secretion) (Koller et al., 2010 ; Roca et al., 2012), whereas Tfh cells are associated with a good prognosis for the pa…

The laparoscopic approach to Acute Mesenteric Ischemia is today unclear and less debated (AMI). There are in fact no clinical evidences on this particular focus and only few articles can be found in several databases (pubmed, cochrane library, etc.), and the problem concerns both diagnostic and therapeutic utilization of the procedure. These considerations were already taken into account in 2012 EAES guidelines where the Grade of Recommendation (GoR) of laparoscopy in AMI was low in both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. According to the new Oxford Classification [1], the use of laparoscopy in patients with suspicious or diagnosed AMI presents a weak GoR.
