Inequality Fragility Hypothesis

The last four decades have been marked by growing inequality. The inequality of income and wealth is one of the most important macroeconomic issues of our time. Inequality contributed to Global Savings Glut and Global Financial Crisis through riskiness channel and a greater propensity to borrow for poor people. This paper presents evidence that besides structural factors, monetary policy, high leverage and the development of new money substitutes are critical in explaining the inequality trend in advanced countries. Increasing economic inequality acts as financial instability enhancer and if left untreated it poses a significant threat to economic sustainability.

Aquest article tracta dels models de traducció col·loquial cap al català en el cas de la versió doblada (1997), la versió subtitulada (1997) i el guió traduït (1998) de Jackie Brown (1997) de Quentin Tarantino. El nucli de l’article és l’anàlisi i la comparació de la fonètica, la morfologia, la sintaxi i el lèxic de cada traducció catalana, que s’emmarca en els models lingüístics i de traducció vigents en el període objecte d’estudi. <p>Listening, watching, reading and writing simultaneously in a foreign language is very complex. This paper is part of wider research which explores the use of audiovisual comprehension questions imprinted in the video image in the form of subtitles and synchronized with the relevant fragments for the purpose of language learning and testing. Compared to viewings where the comprehension activity is available only on paper, this innovative methodology may provide some benefits. The IMF Lending Activity – A Survey

Abstract This paper presents the evolution of the IMF lending arrangements approved between 1953-2013. The study covers both non-concessional and concessional loans. The findings show that the volume of the IMF loans has fluctuated significantly and the value of the IMF lending has increased over a period of economic or financial crisis, as the debt crisis of the 1980s, the Tequila crisis in 1994-1995, the Southeast Asia crisis in 1997-1998, Russia in 1998, Brazil in 1998-1999 and Argentina in 1999-2002 or the global financial crisis since 2008.

Abstract Introduction Positive psychological variables, such as meaning in life and the capacity for enjoyment, are important resilience factors against negative behaviors and symptoms. These constructs are related to better emotional regulation strategies, a greater perception of control over one’s life, and better mental health in general. Adjustment disorder (AjD) is a prevalent condition defined as the failure to adapt to a stressful event.
