Coupled Electric and Hydraulic Control of a PRS Turbine in a Real Transport Water Network

2019

Although many devices have recently been proposed for pressure regulation and energy harvesting in water distribution and transport networks, very few applications are still documented in the scientific literature. A new in-line Banki turbine with positive outflow pressure and a mobile regulating flap, named Power Recovery System (PRS), was installed and tested in a real water transport network for the regulation of pressure and flow rate. The PRS turbine was directly connected to a 55 kW asynchronous generator with variable rotational velocity, and coupled to an inverter. The start-up tests showed how automatic adjustment of the flap position and the runner velocity variation are able to c…

Epigenetic mechanisms behind phenotypic changes in different population densities in bank voles (Myodes glareolus)

2017

DNA-metylaatio on eniten tutkittu epigeneettinen mekanismi jolla on tärkeä rooli geenien säätelyssä normaalin solujen kehityksen aikana. Metylaatio ilmenee tyypillisesti CpG-dinukleotideissa, joissa metyyliryhmä kiinnittyy 5’-sytosiiniin (C) jota seuraava emäs on guaniini (G).

“Swedbank” tēls topošo uzņēmēju, uzņēmēju vidū un portālā “Dienas Bizness” no 2017. gada maija līdz 2018. gada aprīlim

2018

INTERNATIONAL FINANCING ALTERNATIVES FOR ROMANIAN CENTRAL GOVERNMENT

2011

At present all world countries are seeking to attract the cheapest way of public resources needed to cover budget deficits. This paper aims to review the five alternatives for external funding of countries faced with insufficient public funds to the state budget. It focuses on the possibilities of financing with borrowed resources. The financing alternatives are presented from the perspective of Romania's access to them, with comparative references to other European Union member states. International funding alternatives are: loans from the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, European Commission, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank.

Financing of development and the international monetary system

1994

Three categories of developing countries must be distinguished. Of these, one cannot constitute either sufficient domestic savings, or a balance of trade surplus, which would allow it to finance its development. This same category which has no possibility^ to pay back its debts doesn't have a good standing among the borrowing countries, on the international financial market. International organizations don't have sufficient funds to face up tothe needs of these countries. Therefore, the current international monetary system is not favorable to these countries. Consequently, a reform of the international monetary system is necessary. This reform should make the study of international liquidi…

Propagation of Bankruptcy Risk over Scale-Free Economic Networks.

2022

The propagation of bankruptcy-induced shocks across domestic and global economies is sometimes very dramatic; this phenomenon can be modelled as a dynamical process in economic networks. Economic networks are usually scale-free, and scale-free networks are known to be vulnerable with respect to targeted attacks, i.e., attacks directed towards the biggest nodes of the network. Here we address the following question: to what extent does the scale-free nature of economic networks and the vulnerability of the biggest nodes affect the propagation of economic shocks? We model the dynamics of bankruptcies as the propagation of financial contagion across the banking sector over a scale-free network…

Financial Crisis and the Changing Structure of Banking Firms and Industry: a Cross Country Analysis

2013

This paper analyzes the changing structure of the Italian and European banking firms and industry. The main aim is to identify the fundamental changes of the underlying economics of banking through the analysis of banks’ balance sheets. Commercial banks have progressively moved from traditional banking to new forms of financial intermediation. It is changing the fundamentals of banking business. The paper discusses the implications of this changing in terms of organizational structure of banking firms, business operations of banks, and structure of the financial system and banking industry. The research points out that the role of traditional bank is in decline. Banks are losing their predo…

Financial Crisis and Bank Ratings

2014

www.Personal_Asset_Allocation.

2004

Today consumers demand delivery of financial services anytime and anywhere, and their needs and desires are evolving rapidly. The World Wide Web provides a rich channel for distributing customized services to a range of clients. An Internet-based system developed by Prometeia S.r.l. for Italian banks—both traditional and e-banks—supports consumers and financial advisors in planning personal finances. The system provides advice on allocating personal assets to fund consumers' needs, such as paying for a house, children's education, retirement, or other projects. State-of-the-art models of financial engineering—based on scenario optimization—develop plans that are consistent with clients' go…
