Cosmic QCD Epoch at Nonvanishing Lepton Asymmetry
2018
We investigate how a lepton asymmetry impacts the cosmic trajectory in the QCD phase diagram. We study the evolution of chemical potentials during the QCD epoch of the early Universe using susceptibilities from lattice QCD to interpolate between an ideal quark gas and an ideal hadron resonance gas. The lepton asymmetry affects the evolution of all chemical potentials. The standard cosmic trajectory is obtained assuming tiny lepton and baryon asymmetries. For larger lepton asymmetry, the charge chemical potential exceeds the baryon chemical potential before pion annihilation.
Effect of relativistic kinematics on the stability of multiquarks
2021
We discuss whether the bound nature of multiquark states in quark models could benefit from relativistic effects on the kinetic energy operator. For mesons and baryons, relativistic corrections to the kinetic energy lead to lower energies, and thus call for a retuning of the parameters of the model. For multiquark states, as well as their respective thresholds, a comparison is made of the results obtained with non-relativistic and relativistic kinetic energy. It is found that the binding energy is lower in the relativistic case. In particular, $QQ\bar q\bar q$ tetraquarks with double heavy flavor become stable for a larger ratio of the heavy to light quark masses; and the all-heavy tetraqua…
Charmed Mesons in Nuclei with Heavy-Quark Spin Symmetry
2012
We study the properties of charmed pseudoscalar and vector mesons in dense matter within a unitary meson-baryon coupled-channel model which incorporates heavy-quark spin symmetry. This is accomplished by extending the SU(3) Weinberg-Tomozawa Lagrangian to SU(8) spin-flavor symmetry and implementing a suitable flavor symmetry breaking. Several resonances with negative parity are generated dynamically by the s-wave interaction between pseudoscalar and vector meson multiplets with $1/2^+$ and $3/2^+$ baryons. Those states are then compared to experimental data as well as theoretical models. Next, Pauli-blocking effects and meson self-energies are introduced in a self-consistent manner to obtai…
A measurement of the branching fractions of the b quark into charged and neutral b hadrons
2003
The production fractions of charged and neutral b-hadrons in b-quark events from Z0 decays have been measured with the DELPHI detector at LEP. An algorithm has been developed, based on a neural network, to estimate the charge of the weakly-decaying b-hadron by distinguishing its decay products from particles produced at the primary vertex. From the data taken in the years 1994 and 1995, the fraction of bbar-quarks fragmenting into positively charged weakly-decaying b-hadrons has been measured to be: f^+ = (42.09 +/- 0.82 (stat.) +/- 0.89 (syst.))%. Subtracting the rates for charged Xibar_b^+ and Omegabar_b^+ baryons gives the production fraction of B^+ mesons: f_Bu = (40.99 +/- 0.82 (stat.)…
Electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon in a relativistic quark pair creation model
2001
We study the effects of the | qqq q\bar{q} > component of the hadronic wave function on the description of the electromagnetic structure of the nucleon. Starting with a qqq baryonic wave function which describes the baryonic and mesonic low energy spectrum, the extra q\bar{q} pair is generated through a relativistic version of the 3P_0 model. It is shown that this model leads to a renormalization of the quark mass that allows one to construct a conserved electromagnetic current. We conclude that these dynamical relativistic corrections play an important role in reproducing the Q2 dependence of the electromagnetic form factors at low Q^2.
Triquark correlations and pentaquarks in a QCD sum rule approach
2005
The role of quark correlations in the description of hadron dynamics in many domains of physics, from low energy dynamics to very hot(dense) systems, is being appreciated. Strong correlations of two quarks (diquark) have been widely investigated in this respect. Recently, we have proposed a dynamical scheme to describe the $\Theta^+$ pentaquark in which also three quark correlations (triquark) were instrumental in producing a low mass exotic state. We perform a study, within the QCD sum rule approach including OPE and direct instanton contributions, of triquark correlations and obtain two quasi-bound light $ud\bar{s}$ color quark clusters of 800 MeV and 930 MeV respectively.
Spectrum of fully-heavy tetraquarks from a diquark+antidiquark perspective
2019
Using a relativized diquark model Hamiltonian, we calculate the masses of $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ ground-state tetraquarks in the following systems: $b s \bar b \bar s$, $bb \bar n \bar n$ ($n=u, d$), $bb \bar s \bar s$, $cc\bar c \bar c$, $b b \bar b \bar b$, $b c\bar b \bar c$ and $b b \bar c \bar c$. We also compute extensive spectra for the fully-heavy quark flavour combinations. Finally, as a test of the diquark model approach, we compute the masses of fully-heavy baryons in the diquark model. Our results may be compared soon to the forthcoming experimental data for fully-heavy three-quark systems.

Hall–Post inequalities: Review and application to molecules and tetraquarks
2019
A review is presented of the Hall–Post inequalities that give lower-bounds to the ground-state energy of quantum systems in terms of energies of smaller systems. New applications are given for systems experiencing both a static source and inner interactions, as well as for hydrogen-like molecules and for tetraquarks in some quark models. In the latter case, the Hall–Post inequalities constrain the possibility of deeply-bound exotic mesons below the threshold for dissociation into two quark–antiquark mesons. We also emphasize the usefulness of the Hall–Post bounds in terms of 3-body energies when some 2-body subsystems are ill defined or do not support any bound state.
Few-body quark dynamics for doubly heavy baryons and tetraquarks
2018
We discuss the adequate treatment of the 3- and 4-body dynamics for the quark model picture of double-charm baryons and tetraquarks. We stress that the variational and Born-Oppenheimer approximations give energies very close to the exact ones, while the diquark approximation might be rather misleading. The Hall-Post inequalities also provide very useful lower bounds that exclude the possibility of stable tetraquarks for some mass ratios and some color wave functions.
