In particular, a downlink scenario is considered, in which control messages are sent to UAVs via cellular base stations (BSs). Unlike terrestrial user equipment (UEs), UAVs perceive a large number of BSs, which can lead to increased interference causing poor or even unacceptable throughput. Power allocation for two-cell two-user joint transmission

In this paper, we develop a power allocation scheme for the downlink of a two-cell two-user joint transmission system. The objective is to maximize the sum rate under per-cell power constraints. We study a worst case scenario where the carrier phases between the two base stations are un-synchronized, so that joint transmission must be performed without precoding. The derived power allocation scheme is remarkably simple, i.e., each cell transmits with full power to only one user. Note that joint transmission is still possible, when two cells select the same user for data transmission. A continuous-space analytical approach for relay node placement in hybrid cellular and ad hoc networks

A hybrid network is composed of a cellular component and an ad hoc component connected by a relay node, for the purpose of coverage extension and/or capacity improvement. In this paper, we analyze the capacity of such a hybrid network by employing a continuous-space analytical methodology based on circular geometry for uniformly distributed nodes. Sparsity-aware narrowband interference mitigation and subcarriers selection in OFDM-based cognitive radio networks

In this paper, the performance of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing overlay cognitive radio network with subcarrier selection schemes is investigated. We propose three subcarrier selection techniques that reduce the level of interference at the primary base station based on collected channel state information from the different network nodes.
