A Decisional Multi-Agent Framework for Automatic Supply Chain Arrangement

2013

In this work, a multi-agent system (MAS) for supply chain dynamic configuration is proposed. The brain of each agent is composed of a Bayesian Decision Network (BDN); this choice allows the agent for taking the best decisions estimating benefits and potential risks of different strategies, analyzing and managing uncertain information about the collaborating companies. Each agent collects information about customer's orders and current market prices, and analyzes previous experiences of collaborations with trading partners. The agent therefore performs a probabilistic inferential reasoning to filter information modeled in its knowledge base in order to achieve the best performance in the sup…

Machine learning for a combined electroencephalographic anesthesia index to detect awareness under anesthesia

2020

Spontaneous electroencephalogram (EEG) and auditory evoked potentials (AEP) have been suggested to monitor the level of consciousness during anesthesia. As both signals reflect different neuronal pathways, a combination of parameters from both signals may provide broader information about the brain status during anesthesia. Appropriate parameter selection and combination to a single index is crucial to take advantage of this potential. The field of machine learning offers algorithms for both parameter selection and combination. In this study, several established machine learning approaches including a method for the selection of suitable signal parameters and classification algorithms are a…

Evolution, ecology and systematics of Soldanella (Primulaceae) in the southern Apennines (Italy)

2015

Background The populations of Soldanella (Primulaceae) of the southern Apennines (Italy) are unique within the genus for their distribution and ecology. Their highly fragmented distribution range, with three main metapopulations on some of the highest mountains (Gelbison, Sila and Aspromonte massifs) of the area, poses intriguing questions about their evolutionary history and biogeography, and about the possibility of local endemisms. Aims and methods In order to clarify the phylogeny and biogeography of the three metapopulations of Soldanella in the southern Apennines, attributed to S. calabrella to date, and to identify possible local endemisms, a comparative approach based on the study o…

Phylogeny of Veronica in the Southern and Northern Hemispheres based on plastid, nuclear ribosomal and nuclear low-copy DNA

2010

The cosmopolitan and ecologically diverse genus Veronica with approximately 450 species is the largest genus of the newly circumscribed Plantaginaceae. Previous analyses of Veronica DNA sequences were in stark contrast to traditional systematics. However, analyses did not allow many inferences regarding the relationship between major groups identified, hindering further analysis of diversification and evolutionary trends in the genus. To resolve the backbone relationships of Veronica, we added sequences from additional plastid DNA regions to existing data and analyzed matching data sets for 78 taxa and more than 5000 aligned characters from nuclear ribosomal DNA and plastid DNA regions. The…

Redescription of Bedotella armata from Biscay Bay, northern Spain, the type species of Bedotella Stechow, 1913 (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa, Lafoeidae), with …

2007

The circalittoral and bathyal genus Bedotella, comprising a unique known species endemic to the North European Atlantic (Lusitanian Province), Bedotella armata (Pictet, C. & M. Bedot, 1900) is redescribed based on a specimen from the Bay of Biscay, North Spain. As the holotype of the species, originally described as Campanularia armata, is sterile and incomplete, the present re-description includes new data concerning its morphometry, including gonothecae, and cnidom, as well as all the literature. The diagnostic characters of Bedotella armata are the presence of globular nematothecae, the campanuliform hydrothecae, and flabelliform, gigantic gonothecae. We corroborate the hypotheses of aff…

Global, regional, and national burden of chronic kidney disease, 1990–2017: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017

2020

Abstract: Background Health system planning requires careful assessment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) epidemiology, but data for morbidity and mortality of this disease are scarce or non-existent in many countries. We estimated the global, regional, and national burden of CKD, as well as the burden of cardiovascular disease and gout attributable to impaired kidney function, for the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2017. We use the term CKD to refer to the morbidity and mortality that can be directly attributed to all stages of CKD, and we use the term impaired kidney function to refer to the additional risk of CKD from cardiovascular disease and gout. Methods Th…

Punktveida defektu īpašības bārija itrija fluorīda kristālā

2016

Amusium cristatum shell beds in the lower Pliocene deposits of Almería-Níjar Basin (SE Spain)

2020

Densely packed monospecific-paucispecific Amusium cristatum-dominated shell beds are signifi cant features in the lower Pliocene deposits of the Almeria-Nijar Basin (SE Spain), embedded in distal prodelta fi ne-grained sand and silt. The shells in these concentrations are exceptionally well preserved: articulation is relatively high, fragmentation is low, abrasion is almost lacking, and many shells preserve the original colour pattern. These taphonomic signatures suggest in situ deposition forming autochthonous fossil assemblages, i.e. biological concentrations. Benthic foraminiferal assemblages found in the prodelta deposits indicate that they formed in mesotrophic mid-shelf settings. The A…

Methodological Approach for Messages Classification on Twitter Within E-Government Area

2018

The constant growth in the numbers of Social Media users is a reality of the past few years. Companies, governments and researchers focus on extracting useful data from Social Media. One of the most important things we can extract from the messages transmitted from one user to another is the sentiment—positive, negative or neutral—regarding the subject of the conversation. There are many studies on how to classify these messages, but all of them need a huge amount of data already classified for training, data not available for Romanian language texts. We present a case study in which we use a Naive Bayes classifier trained on an English short text corpus on several thousand Romanian texts. …

Review of Non-English Corpora Annotated for Emotion Classification in Text

2020

In this paper we try to systematize the information about the available corpora for emotion classification in text for languages other than English with the goal to find what approaches could be used for low-resource languages with close to no existing works in the field. We analyze the corresponding volume, emotion classification schema, language of each corresponding corpus and methods employed for data preparation and annotation automation. We’ve systematized twenty-four papers representing the corpora and found that corpora were mostly for the most spoken world languages: Hindi, Chinese, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese etc. A typical corpus contained several thousand of manually-annotated ent…
