[EN] The essential oil fraction obtained from the rind of Citrus spp. is rich in chemical compounds of interest for the food and perfume industries, and therefore has been extensively studied during the last decades. This work compares two possible solutions to achieve a higher resolution in a hodoscope based on Plastic Scintillating Fibers (PSF) by obtaining the point of maximum incidence of the radioactive beam. The two fitting algorithms proposed have been tested and implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices. On one hand, a probabilistic model based on the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) and on the other hand, non-linear least-squares fit with the Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm (LMA).

After many years of search, the only surviving copy of a collection of sermons with a chronicle (965– 1618), which was printed and published in Leipzig in 1619 by Wolfgang Silber, the parson from Greiffenberg, Lower Silesia, was discovered in 2016, within the international programme “The Silesian Cultural Heritage.” The first part of the article includes information on the life and creation of the sermon’s author and presents the historical and cultural background of the book, with references to the municipality and the church. Magnetic exchange interactions in the heteropoly complexes [M4(H2O)2(PW9O34)2]10− [M=Co(II) and Cu(II)]

The magnetic properties of the heteropolyanions [M4(H2O)2(PW9O34)2]10− [M=Co(II) and Cu(II)] down to 4 K are reported. Their individual heteropoly molecules contain a rhomblike arrangement formed by four coplanar MO6 octahedra sharing edges. The magnetic properties support an intramolecular ferromagnetic exchange in the Co(II) tetramer, and antiferromagnetic exchange in the Cu(II) tetramer. These behaviors are discussed assuming anisotropic exchange in the Co(II) compound, and Heisenberg exchange in the Cu(II) compound. Carlos.Gomez@uv.es
Small clusters with Heisenberg antiferromagnetic exchange

We study small symmetrical clusters of magnetic ions with Heisenberg antiferromagnetic exchange interaction. We calculate the magnetization and the specific heat as functions of applied magnetic field at zero and non-zero temperature. Results are given for both classical and quantum systems. At zero temperature the classical systems undergo a series of transitions where the symmetry changes as a function of applied field. The quantum systems show similar features to Ising systems previously studied.
