Montanacin-L and montanacin-K two previously non-described acetogenins from Annona montana twigs and leaves

A phytochemical study on Annona montana twigs and leaves led to the isolation of eleven annonaceous acetogenins, including two previously non-described compounds, montanacin-L and montanacin-K. Their structures were elucidated by extensive analyses of spectroscopic data (IR, UV, HRTOFMS, EI-MS and 1H, 13C and 2D NMR). The ACGs montanacin-L, montanacin-K, montanacin-D and montanacin-E were evaluated for their toxicity against Spodoptera frugiperda Smith (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). New crystal structures of fluorinated α-aminophosphonic acid analogues of phenylglycine

The four novel phosphonic acid analogues of phenylglycine with various substituents in phenyl ring (mostly fluorine atoms) have been synthesized by using procedure of amidoalkylation of phosphorus trichloride with aromatic aldehydes and acetamide. The NMR, ESI-MS spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-Ray diffraction methods were used to characterize unusual structures: the amino-(4-trifluoromethylbenzyl)-(1), amino-(3,4-difluorobenzyl)-(2), amino-(2,4,6-trifluorobenzyl)-(3), and amino-(2-fluoro-4-hydroxybenzyl)-(4) phosphonic acids. Insights into the Mechanism of Anodic N–N Bond Formation by Dehydrogenative Coupling

The electrochemical synthesis of pyrazolidine-3,5-diones and benzoxazoles by N-N bond formation and C,O linkage, respectively, represents an easy access to medicinally relevant structures. Electrochemistry as a key technology ensures a safe and sustainable approach. We gained insights in the mechanism of these reactions by combining cyclovoltammetric and synthetic studies. Recent studies on RR′S·C2B9H11 charge-compensated ligands

Abstract In this paper we report the synthesis of three new carborane derivatives of the series 7,8-R,R′-10-L-7,8-C2B9H9 (R=R′=H, L=SEtPh; R=CH3, R′=H, L=SMe2 and L=SEt2) along with the enhanced characterization of formerly described compounds 7,8-R,R′-10-L-7,8-C2B9H9 (R=R′=H, L=SMe2 (1), L=SEt2 (2) and L=S(CH2)4 (3)). They have been fully characterised using 1H-, 11B- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy. Their bridging proton resonances have been located for the first time. Diastereoselectivity of the Addition of Propargylic Magnesium Reagents to Fluorinated Aromatic Sulfinyl Imines.

The addition of propargylmagnesium bromide to fluorinated aromatic sulfinyl imines gave homopropargyl amines with total regio- and diastereoselection. Complete reversal of diastereoselectivity can be achieved in some cases using coordinating (THF) or noncoordinating (DCM) solvents. Substituted propargylic magnesium reagents have been also tested toward fluorinated aryl sulfinyl imines affording chiral homoallenyl amines with good yields and selectivity control. DFT calculations helped to rationalize the origin of the experimental regio- and diastereoselectivities observed in each case.

6-Polyamino-substituted quinolines: synthesis and multiple metal (CuII, HgIIand ZnII) monitoring in aqueous media

Chemoselective palladium-catalyzed arylation of polyamines with 6-bromoquinoline has been explored to prepare chelators for the detection of metal cations in aqueous media. The introduction of a single aromatic moiety into non-protected polyamine molecules was achieved using the commercially available Pd(dba)2/BINAP precatalyst to afford nitrogen chelators, in which the aromatic signalling unit is directly attached to the polyamine residue. Direct Difluorination–Hydroxylation, Trifluorination, and C(sp2)–H Fluorination of Enamides

A direct double functionalization involving both difluorination and hydroxylation of enamides is reported. With the appropriate combination of an electrophilic fluorinating reagent and H2O, the most convenient and ecofriendly hydroxylating agent, the preparation of 3-(difluoroalkyl)-3-hydroxyisoindolin-1-ones was achieved under basic or Bronsted acidic conditions. Suitable conditions for trifluorination as well as C(sp2)–H fluorination were also identified. Subsequent asymmetric functionalization of the obtained gem-difluorinated products has also been demonstrated.
