Phantoms Used for Mapping of Skin Chromophores by Multi-spectral Imaging

Skin phantoms can be used for better understanding of diffuse reflectance imaging of skin. In this study, skin phantoms of hemoglobin, bilirubin and melanin were developed and studied for possibilities to calibrate chromophore concentration values.

Psychophysical response to electrocutaneous stimulation.

A method is presented to determine a reliable stimulus-sensation relationship particularly suitable for electrocutaneous stimulation. An experimental intensity-discrimination curve was obtained through simple psychophysical comparison tasks, and sensory response was inferred from integration of a JND's density function. The psychophysical response resembles a power law, although departures cannot be described in terms of a unique exponent. An estimate of binary information capacity per electrode is also given as a feature of a stimulation procedure that preserves a low value of the size-intensity product.

Repeatability Study on a Classifier for Gastric Cancer Detection from Breath Sensor Data

The SNIFFPHONE device is a portable multichannel gas sensor, aiming to detect gastric cancer (GC) from breath samples. It employs gold nanoparticle (GNP) sensors reacting to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the exhaled breath, a non-invasive technique to support early diagnosis. This study evaluates the repeatability of the SNIFFPHONE classification result for measurements conducted on healthy subjects over a short period of time of less than 10 minutes. An in vitro evaluation of the effects of desensitizing agents on microleakage of Class V cavities

Background The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a desensitizing agent on microleakage of Class V cavities. Material and Methods 72 premolar teeth were used. There were 6 groups. Class V restorations were prepared with two different restorative materials (Equia fil, GC, America and Grandio, VOCO, Germany) and two adhesive systems (Clearfil SE Bond, Kuraray, Japan and S3 Bond Plus, Kuraray, Japan) with and without desensitizing agent (Gluma Desensitizer, Heraeus Kulzer, Germany).
