This dissertation is devoted to the study of the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property in different contexts. In Chapter 1 we give a historical resume and the motivation behind this property as the classics Bishop-Phelps and Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás theorems. We define the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property (BPBp) and we comment on some important current results. In Chapter 2 we study similar properties to the BPBp. First, we define the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás point property (BPBpp). The BPBpp is stronger than the BPBp. We study it for bounded linear operators and then for bilinear mappings. El principal punto de interés de esta tesis es el estudio de extensiones de los teoremas de Bishop-Phelps y Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás a diferentes contextos. Esta tesis se divide en tres capítulos. En el primero hacemos un repaso de la teoría de funcionales que alcanzan la norma. En este resumen introducimos el Teorema de Bishop-Phelps y el Teorema de Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás. El segundo capítulo está dedicado al estudio de extensiones de los resultados de Bishop-Phelps y Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás al caso de operadores. En esta tesis estudiamos problemas relacionados con aplicaciones de varios tipos que alcanzan su norma u operadores que alcanzan su radio numérico. Tras un capítulo introductorio donde se comentan las notaciones, los principales conceptos, y un resumen histórico del estado del arte, hay 4 capítulos de contenido matemático donde se estudian diversos tipos de problemas. En el capítulo 2, se estudian clases de operadores entre espacios de Banach tales que cuando casi alcanzan su norma (respectivamente, su radio numérico) en un punto (respectivamente, un estado), necesariamente la alcanzan en un punto cercano (respectivamente, en un estado cercano). The Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for bilinear forms and polynomials

For a $\sigma$-finite measure $\mu$ and a Banach space $Y$ we study the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property (BPBP) for bilinear forms on $L_1(\mu)\times Y$, that is, a (continuous) bilinear form on $L_1(\mu)\times Y$ almost attaining its norm at $(f_0,y_0)$ can be approximated by bilinear forms attaining their norms at unit vectors close to $(f_0,y_0)$. In case that $Y$ is an Asplund space we characterize the Banach spaces $Y$ satisfying this property. We also exhibit some class of bilinear forms for which the BPBP does not hold, though the set of norm attaining bilinear forms in that class is dense.
