Abstract Information technology (IT) engagement is defined as a need to spend more time using IT. Practice-based examples show that IT engagement can have adverse effects in organizations. Przedmiotem refleksji są wybrane aspekty dotyczące przeobrażeń obrzędowości Świąt Wielkanocnych w Polsce. W artykule skupiono uwagę przede wszystkim na tradycji święcenia pokarmów w Wielką Sobotę, omówiono dawne i współczesne praktyki zwyczajowe z nią związane. Podstawą opracowań jest dostępna literatura etnograficzna, pilotażowe badania terenowe prowadzone przez autorkę w różnych częściach Polski, w tym głównie w województwach śląskim, opolskim i łódzkim oraz materiały internetowe.

The paper includes the study on activities of the Latvian painter and writer Hilda Vika - Eglīte (1897-1963) in the field of visual art (mostly painting) connected with Latvian mythology. Latvian myth characters and themes came into H. Vika’s creative work after 1930 when she married writer and reviewer Viktors Eglitis and resorted to “Dievturība” (Latvian Neopagan religious movement based on folklore, old folk songs and mythology). Chaoskampf in the orthodox baptism ritual

The present article analyses the occurrence of the Chaoskampf motif in the Orthodox Baptism ritual and its biblical and Near-Eastern backgrounds. Such statements are direct references to Old and New Testament texts in which water has negative connotations, being associated with hostile or chaotic aspects of existence. In the baptismal interpretation of the biblical motif, sea, depths and dragons are figurative names for demons. The liturgical reinterpretation of these biblical references is the preamble of the baptismal exorcisms. This text attempts to detail the functions and effects of some of Shakespeare's aesthetic strategies, and to determine their relationship to ideology. While this is critical territory that cultural materialists and new historicists have extensively mapped, the current text avoids the preferred methods of enquiry that these lines take. Rather than giving focus to the containment strategies of a dominant ideology, my investigation proceeds via a close reading of certain elements from Act 5 of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
