Three body systems with strangeness and exotic systems

2010

We report on four $\Sigma$'s and three $\Lambda$'s, in the 1500 - 1800 MeV region, as two meson - one baryon S-wave $(1/2)^+$ resonances found by solving the Faddeev equations in the coupled channel approach, which can be associated to the existing $S$ = -1, $J^P= 1/2^+$ low lying baryon resonances. On the other hand we also report on a new, hidden strangeness $N^*$ state, mostly made of $K \bar{K} N$, with mass around 1920 MeV, which we think could be responsible for the peak seen in the $\gamma p \to K^+ \Lambda$ around this energy. Finally we address a very novel topic in which we show how few body systems of several $\rho$ mesons can be produced, with their spins aligned up to J=6, and …

One-dimensional charged kaon femtoscopy in p -Pb collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV

2019

The correlations of identical charged kaons were measured in p-Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The femtoscopic invariant radii and correlation strengths were extracted from one-dimensional kaon correlation functions and were compared with those obtained in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at √s=7 TeV and √sNN=2.76 TeV, respectively. The presented results also complement the identical-pion femtoscopic data published by the ALICE collaboration. The extracted radii increase with increasing charged-particle multiplicity and decrease with increasing pair transverse momentum. At comparable multiplicities, the radii measured in p-Pb collisions are found to be close to tho…

Faddeev fixed-center approximation to theNK̄Ksystem and the signature of aN*(1920)(1/2+) state

2011

We perform a calculation for the three body $N \bar{K} K$ scattering amplitude by using the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equations, taking the interaction between $N$ and $\bar{K}$, $N$ and $K$, and $\bar{K}$ and $K$ from the chiral unitary approach. The resonant structures show up in the modulus squared of the three body scattering amplitude and suggest that a $N\bar{K}K$ hadron state can be formed. Our results are in agreement with others obtained in previous theoretical works, which claim a new $N^*$ resonance around 1920 MeV with spin-parity $J^P=1/2^+$. The existence of these previous works allows us to test the accuracy of the fixed center approximation in the present pro…

Energy and width of a narrowI=1/2DNNquasibound state

2012

The energies and widths of $DNN$ quasi-bound states with isospin I=1/2 are evaluated in two methods, the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equation and the variational method approach to the effective one-channel Hamiltonian. The $DN$ interactions are constructed so that they dynamically generate the $\Lambda_c(2595)$ (I=0, $J^{\pi} =1/2^-$) resonance state. We find that the system is bound by about 250 MeV from the $DNN$ threshold, $\sqrt{s} \sim 3500$ MeV. Its width including both the mesonic decay and the $D$ absorption, is estimated to be about 20-40 MeV. The I=0 $DN$ pair in the $DNN$ system is found to form a cluster that is similar to the $\Lambda_c(2595)$.

Momentum space integral equations for three charged particles: Nondiagonal kernels

2000

Standard solution methods are known to be applicable to Faddeev-type momentum space integral equations for three-body transition amplitudes, not only for purely short-range interactions but also, after suitable modifications, for potentials possessing Coulomb tails provided the total energy is below the three-body threshold. For energies above that threshold, however, long-range Coulomb forces have been suspected to give rise to such severe singularities in the kernels, even of the modified equations, that their compactness properties are lost. Using the rigorously equivalent formulation in terms of an effective-two-body theory we prove that, for all energies, the nondiagonal kernels occurr…

Elastic electron deuteron scattering with consistent meson exchange and relativistic contributions of leading order

1999

The influence of relativistic contributions to elastic electron deuteron scattering is studied systematically at low and intermediate momentum transfers ($Q^2\leq 30$ fm$^{-2}$). In a $(p/M)$-expansion, all leading order relativistic $\pi$-exchange contributions consistent with the Bonn OBEPQ models are included. In addition, static heavy meson exchange currents including boost terms and lowest order $\rho\pi\gamma$-currents are considered. Sizeable effects from the various relativistic two-body contributions, mainly from $\pi$-exchange, have been found in form factors, structure functions and the tensor polarization $T_{20}$. Furthermore, static properties, viz. magnetic dipole and charge …

Ab initio calculation of Li7 photodisintegration

2004

The Li7 total photoabsorption cross section is calculated microscopically. As nucleon-nucleon interaction the semi-realistic central AV4' potential with S- and P-wave forces is taken. The interaction of the final 7-nucleon system is fully taken into account via the Lorentz Integral Transform (LIT) method. For the calculation of the LIT we use expansions in hyperspherical harmonics (HH) in conjunction with the HH effective interaction (EIHH) approach. The convergence of the LIT expansion is discussed in detail. The calculated cross section agrees quite well with the available experimental data, which cover an energy range from threshold up to 100 MeV.

The antikaon–nucleus interaction and alternative views to deeply bound antikaonic nuclear systems

2008

Abstract We present an overview of the latest theoretical studies on the antikaon properties in the nuclear medium, in connection with the recent experimental claims of very deeply bound antikaon nuclear states. We argue that proper many-body formulations using modern realistic antikaon–nucleon interactions are not able to generate such systems. Instead, a simple two-nucleon antikaon absorption mechanism where the remaining nucleus acts as spectator explains the enhancement observed in semi-inclusive proton momentum spectra, seen as a bump in the KEK PS-E549 experiment on a 4 He target or as a peak in the FINUDA experiment on a 6 Li target. This signal is clearly visible in another FINUDA e…

ΛNNandΣNNsystems at threshold

2007

We calculate the hypertriton binding energy and the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}d$ and $\ensuremath{\Sigma}d$ scattering lengths using baryon-baryon interactions obtained from a chiral constituent quark model. We study consistently the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\mathit{NN}$ and $\ensuremath{\Sigma}\mathit{NN}$ systems by analyzing the effect of the $\ensuremath{\Sigma}\ensuremath{\leftrightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ conversion. Our interactions correctly predict the hypertriton binding energy. The $(I,J)=(0,3/2)$ $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\mathit{NN}$ channel is also attractive and it might have a bound state. From the condition of nonexistence of a (0,3/2) $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\mathit{NN}$ bound state, an…

Critical view on the deeply boundK−ppsystem

2006

We briefly review the situation around the claimed deeply bound ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ states in different recent experiments and concentrate particularly on the state ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{pp}$ advocated by the FINUDA collaboration in nuclear ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ absorption. We perform a theoretical simulation of the process and show that the peak in the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}p$ spectrum that was interpreted as a deep ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{pp}$ bound state corresponds mostly to the process ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}pp\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\Lambda}p$ followed by final-state interactions of the produced particles with the daughter nucleus.
