El presente artículo analiza los rasgos característicos de la obra lírica del maestro José Serrano Simeón, probablemente el compositor de zarzuelas más relevante del siglo XX, así como las opiniones que la crítica especializada de la época llevó a cabo sobre su insigne producción. La riqueza melódica de sus obras, que tenía su origen en la música popular española, la variedad rítmica de las mismas y su sencilla y eficaz instrumentación son tan sólo algunos de los rasgos más representativos de su magna obra.

The effects of book exposure and reading interest on oral language skills of children with and without a familial risk of dyslexia

The potential role of home literacy environment (HLE) in children's language development has been widely studied. However, data on the HLE of children with familial risk (FR) of dyslexia are limited. In this longitudinal study, we examined (a) whether amount of book exposure and reading interest at age 4 were different in samples of Norwegian FR and no FR‐children, respectively, (b) whether these home literacy‐related factors exerted different effects depending on family‐risk status on vocabulary and grammar skills at school entry age (6 years) and (c) whether they contributed independently to language outcomes at age 6, after controlling for the 4;6‐year language skills. In the rapidly changing circumstances of our increasingly digital world, reading is also becoming an increasingly digital experience: electronic books (e-books) are now outselling print books in the United States and the United Kingdom. Tras la caída de Constantinopla (1453), Pero Tafur y Bertrandon de La Broquière difunden sus libros de viajes, dos de los más importantes europeos escritos en el siglo XV. Ambos habían conocido, entre quince y veinte años antes, al emperador de Grecia, Juan VIII Paleólogo, al Papa Eugenio IV y a otros protagonistas de los concilios de Basilea (1431-1434) y Ferrara-Florencia (1438-1439), que decretaron la unión entre las iglesias romana y griega. A new species S. deformata, that occurs in six locations of marine sand dunes along the eastern Mediterranean coast of Spain is described and illustrated from spores. In the field, the species occurred in the rhizosphere of Ammophila arenaria (Poaceae), Elymus farctus (Poaceae), Otanthus maritimus (Asteraceae), and Echinophora spinosa (Apiaceae). Morphological characters related with outer, middle and inner wall of the glomerospores as well as phylogenetic analysis (partial SSU, ITS1-5.8S region and the partial LSU nrDNA) support the hypothesis that the fungus is a new species of the Scutellosporaceae.
TRYPANOSOMES OF SOME FENNOSCANDIAN BIRDS

Linear measurements and derived indices of trypanosomes from species of Fennoscandian birds were compared to those reported form Trypanosoma avium, T. everetti, T. ontarioensis and T. paddae. The trypanosomes encountered in the Fennoscandian birds were identified as T. avium from Tengmalm's owl Aegolius funereus and the pied flycatcher Ficedula hypoleuca, T. everetti from the great tit Parus major and collared flycatcher F. albicollis and T. ontarioensis from the collared flycatcher; T. paddae was not seen.

Celem artykułu jest analiza funkcjonowania Państwa Islamskiego w ujęciu prestiżowego angielskiego dwutygodnika „London Review of Books”. Tekst składa się z czterech części. Najpierw omawia się okoliczności narastania zjawiska sunnickiego dżihadyzmu w Iraku po kierowanej przez Stany Zjednoczone inwazji w 2003 r. Następnie zwraca się uwagę na relacje reżimu partii Baas w Syrii z sunnickimi ekstremistami. W kolejnej części zaś na kwestię użycia broni chemicznej w Syrii w 2013 r. W ostatnim rozdziale opisano dwuznaczną rolę Turcji w konfliktach w Iraku i Syrii. W podsumowaniu zawarto wnioski z rozważań.
Estudiantes de Música del Máster de Profesor de Educación Secundaria: creencias, expectativas y valoración de la distribución de créditos

En este estudio cuantitativo de carácter descriptivo se investigan las creencias de 31 estudiantes de la especialidad de Música del Máster de Profesor de Educación Secundaria de la Universitat de València, sus expectativas al cursar este tipo de formación, su valoración de la distribución de los créditos de las asignaturas que lo conforman y diferencias en base al género. Los resultados presentan sus consideraciones para realizar este Máster, su opinión sobre la función docente, la metodología y contenidos que desarrollarán en futuras clases, las expectativas y la valoración de los créditos de las asignaturas del Máster, entre otros.
