The Mafia Boss Yesterday and Today: Psychological Characteristics and Research Data

This article describes Cosa Nostra bosses’ psychological characteristics starting from research data collected over almost twenty years (1994–2013). Through the use of fragments of interviews to justice collaborators and their wives, children, and sisters-in-law, we analyze the boss’ role and relational context. This article also reports the results of a recent research on the relationship between boss and white-collar workers, carried out through the analysis of environmental tapping recorded at a famous Sicilian Mafia boss’ house: Giuseppe Guttadauro. The Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) is designed to measure the scale of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) in the clustering of matter over a larger volume than the combined efforts of all previous spectroscopic surveys of large-scale structure. BOSS uses 1.5 million luminous galaxies as faint as i = 19.9 over 10,000 deg(2) to measure BAO to redshifts z < 0.7. Observations of neutral hydrogen in the Ly alpha forest in more than 150,000 quasar spectra (g < 22) will constrain BAO over the redshift range 2.15 < z < 3.5. Within the framework of a FISH screening protocol to detect cryptic subtelomeric rearrangements in autistic disorder (AD), a patient bearing three copies of the subtelomeric portion of the q arm of chromosome 13 has been identified. Beside AD, the patient also has severe mental retardation and displays several dysmorphic features. L'objectiu de la present recerca és abordar la variació i ductilitat de conceptes aparentment clars i inequívocs relacionats amb els rols professionals habituals. L'estudi se centra en les estructures semàntiques, i subsegüents models cognitius, associats amb el terme 'boss', tal com són expressats i transmesos en l'actualitat a través dels grans mitjans de comunicació britànics. L'anàlisi lingüística, qualitatiu i quantitatiu, d'un corpus significatiu de textos en els quals apareix aquest terme mostra clares diferències en el seu significat, depenent de factors clau com l'orientació sociopolítica i ideològica de la plataforma de publicació.

Abstract Background Recurrent reciprocal 1q21.1 deletions and duplications have been associated with variable phenotypes. Phenotypic features described in association with 1q21.1 microdeletions include developmental delay, craniofacial dysmorphism and congenital anomalies.
