Ileus Following Spontaneous Jejunum Intramural Hematoma: Case Report and Review of the Literature

Anticoagulant therapy may cause the onset of a spontaneous intramural hematoma of the small bowel, in the jejunum, ileum or duodenum. A 53-year-old woman on therapy with heparin for previous pulmonary embolism was admitted for abdominal pain and vomit. Computed tomography scan visualized an intramural hematoma of the jejunum causing subtotal obstruction of the intestinal lumen. The patient underwent resection of a part of the jejunum, securing intestinal continuity by a mechanical side-to-side anastomosis. The aim of the study was to determine 24-hour activity of the Wild Boar at the baiting sit established in a forest ecosystem next to large scale plantations, moistly of maize. The study was based on 24-hours monitoring by camera traps. This pilot study was conducted during a year (from May 2015 to June 2016) in western Poland. Recording the exact time and date of each observation made it possible to determine the 24-hour rhythm of the studied species. Background: Thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) plays a significant role in the metabolism of thiopurines, and, for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), it is useful to perform TPMT genotyping prior to azathioprine (AZA) treatment. In this study, we determined TPMT gene polymorphisms in a cohort of IBD patients in Latvia. Methods: DNA samples were obtained from 244 IBD patients, and qPCR was performed for detection of rs1800462, rs1800460, and rs1142345 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).
