This paper discusses the ornamental patterns of metal bracelets worn on the arms and legs of people during the European Bronze Age. A method has been specially created to study geometric patterns. Some sets of metal bands (bracelets métalliques) of Bronze Age reach a high level of complexity due to the use of combined patterns in an overall structure. Background A survey was done on practicing Orthodontists in the United States on their experience with lingual orthodontics. The objectives of this survey study were to assess 1) the satisfaction level with cases treated with lingual orthodontics, 2) factors that influence clinicians' decision to utilize or not utilize lingual braces in their current practices, and 3) intention of using lingual braces in their future practices, if not used currently, in the U.S. Material and methods A survey questionnaire was electronically distributed to 2,200 active U.S. members of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Nella presente nota si riportano i principali risultati di un’analisi sui meccanismi di rottura per sollevamento del fondo di scavi sostenuti da diaframmi. È stata studiata l’influenza su tali meccanismi di fattori quali: lo stato tensionale iniziale; il rapporto tra larghezza e altezza dello scavo; la profondità d’infissione dei diaframmi al di sotto del fondo dello scavo; la dissipazione delle sovrappressioni interstiziali. Triply Factorised Groups and the Structure of Skew Left Braces

The algebraic structure of skew left brace has proved to be useful as a source of set-theoretic solutions of the Yang–Baxter equation. We study in this paper the connections between left and right $$\pi $$ -nilpotency and the structure of finite skew left braces. We also study factorisations of skew left braces and their impact on the skew left brace structure. As a consequence of our study, we define a Fitting-like ideal of a left brace. Our approach depends strongly on a description of a skew left brace in terms of a triply factorised group obtained from the action of the multiplicative group of the skew left brace on its additive group.

On finite involutive Yang–Baxter groups

[EN] A group G is said to be an involutive Yang¿Baxter group, or simply an IYB-group, if it is isomorphic to the permutation group of an involutive, nondegenerate set-theoretic solution of the Yang-Baxter equation. We give new sufficient conditions for a group that can be factorised as a product of two IYB-groups to be an IYB-group. Some earlier results are direct consequences of our main theorem.
