Erosion rates and sediment budgets in vineyards at 1-m resolution based on stock unearthing (Burgundy, France).

Abstract A new and simple method is developed to efficiently quantify erosion and deposition rates based on stock unearthing measurements. This is applicable to spatial scales ranging from plot to hillslopes, and to time scales ranging from single hydrologic events to centennial scales. The method is applied to a plot area on vineyard hillslopes in Burgundy (Monthelie, France), with measurement of 4328 vine plants. A sediment budget established at the plot scale shows a mean soil lowering of 3.44 ± 1 cm over 20 years, involving a minimal erosion rate of 1.7 ± 0.5 mm yr − 1 . AbstractWe have theoretically investigated the phenomenon of Eckhaus instability of stationary patterns arising in hyperbolic reaction–diffusion models on large finite domains, in both supercritical and subcritical regime. Adopting multiple-scale weakly-nonlinear analysis, we have deduced the cubic and cubic–quintic real Ginzburg–Landau equations ruling the evolution of pattern amplitude close to criticality. Abstract This paper considers the education of the labour force based on an analysis of trends in and the relationships between job polarization and skills mismatch. Both job polarization and skills mismatch have become topics of increasing interest, but relationships between the two have been relatively neglected in the literature. We argue that the relationship between polarization and skills mismatch is an empirical matter, which we analyse at both the macroeconomic and microeconomic level in European countries. Baktērijas Borrelia burgdorferi virsmas lipoproteīna BBA03 strukturālie pētījumi

Laima slimība ir visizplatītākā ar vektoriem pārnēsātā slimība Ziemeļu puslodē. Neraugoties uz tās izplatību un smagajiem slimības simptomiem, vēl aizvien nav līdz galam izprasts tās izraisītājas (Borrelia burgdorferi) infekcijas mehānisms. Darba mērķis bija producēt B. burgdorferi ar membrānu saistīto lipoproteīnu BBA03 un noteikt tā telpisko struktūru, izmantojot kodolu magnētisko rezonansi. BBA03 sastāv no 38 aminoskābes garas nestrukturētas ķēdes proteīna N-galā, kam seko septiņas α-spirāles. Izmantojot Dali serveri tika konstatēts, ka BBA03 tuvākais strukturālais analogs ir mlp proteīnu saimes pārstāvis - BBP28. Neraugoties uz to homoloģiju, iepriekšējie pētījumi norāda uz abu proteīnu…
