Food Safety Through Application of an E-Learning Platform

AbstractThe paper investigates the effectiveness of a continuing online education course for the professionals, who provides information on the food safety working group from "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, formed by students (specialization: Engineering and Management in Public Food and Agro-tourism), persons looking for a job (unemployed) and people who works in the food industry. Possibility of Wastewater Treatment Using MFC with Ni-Co Catalyst of Fuel Electrode

Abstract One of the problems with microbial fuel cells is a low current density of those energy sources. Nonetheless, it is possible to increase the current density by using the catalyst for fuel electrode (anode) - as long as a low cost catalyst can be found. The possibility of wastewater treatment using the Ni-Co alloy as catalyst for MFC’s is presented in this paper. The alloys were obtained with different concentrations of Co (15 and 50% of Co). The increase of current density with Ni-Co catalyst is approximately 0,1 mA/cm2. So, a fundamental possibility wastewater treatment using the Ni-Co alloy as catalyst for microbial fuel cells was presented.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate significant measures between indicators / factors associated to compulsive Internet use and academic procrastination behaviors, for a sample of students, from Romanian education institutions. Perspective Correction For Image Processing

Abstract The paper proposes an algorithm for applying the perspective correction of images containing human faces. Based on the coordinates of the two eyes, of the center of the mouth and of a point on the line of the mouth, one can estimate the angle of inclination of the face. After applying the perspective correction, the area corresponding to the face can be used by a face recognition algorithm based on aspect in order to improve the good recognition rate.

Abstract This study is focused to analyze mild mental retardation children’s ability to make causal attributions from sparse data. The research method selected was that of an unifactorial experiment starting from the assumption that children with mild mental retardation should ask for help or explore the environment following the causal attribution they will do according to the statistical data they receive.
