ABSTRACT Relational networks and intangible factors are crucial elements for the competitiveness of a territory. Public–Private–Partnerships (PPPs), in particular, allow for the provision of goods and services that favour the exploitation of complementarities between public and private resources. Tässä tutkimuksessa rajaudutaan tarkastelemaan varhaiskasvatusta tieteenalan perspektiivistä. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan akateemisen kentän muotoutumista ja varhaiskasvatuksen sisällöllistä määrittymistä. Aineistona ovat Suomen varhaiskasvatuksen professoreiden virantäyttöprosesseissa tuotetut dokumentit. Tutkielman tavoitteena on avata meikkaamisen kokemuksellisuutta ja toimijuutta sekä meikkaamisen motiiveja ja merkityksiä meikkaajien haastattelupuheen kautta. Haastatteluja käsittelen diskurssianalyysin keinoin. Meikkaamisen kannalta relevantteja aihepiirejä ovat esimerkiksi kosmetiikan historia, kauneusihanteet ja -normit, julkisen olemisen normit, pukeutuminen ja tyyli sekä luonnollisuusihanne. Näitä tarkastelen pääasiassa healthismin, eroottisen pääoman ja luonnollisuusideologian viitekehyksissä. Lisäksi painotan identiteettiä ja meikin roolia minuuden kehittämisessä ja tukemisessa. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan työpaikan menettämisen ja muiden taloudellisten ja ei-taloudellisten kannustimien vaikutuksia alueelliseen muuttoliikkeeseen. Käytämme yhdistettyä työnantaja-työntekijäaineistoa sekä tietoja alueellisista asuntomarkkinoista. Työpaikan menettäneillä tarkoitamme heitä, jotka menettävät työpaikkansa toimipaikan sulkemisen tai joukkoirtisanomisen takia. Työpaikan menetys lisää henkilön muuttoalttiutta noin 80 prosentilla. Työpaikan menettäneet näyttäisivätkin reagoivan taloudellisiin kannustimiin, sillä alhainen oletettu palkkataso ja korkeat asuntojen hinnat alueella ovat yhteydessä lisääntyneeseen muuttoalttiuteen alueelta, josta henkilö on jäänyt työttömäksi…
