Promocijas darba anotācija Pēdējā desmitgadē Latvijas tautsaimniecības attīstība bijusi īpaši svārstīga, kas sarežģīja ekonomiskās politikas lēmumu pieņemšanu ekonomiskās situācijas stabilizēšanai. Lai atvieglotu lēmumu pieņemšanu, ekonomisko aktivitāti īstermiņā var prognozēt ar ekonometriskiem modeļiem. Promocijas darba mērķis ir novērtēt faktoru modeļu priekšrocības ekonomiskās aktivitātes prognozēšanas kontekstā un noteikt Latvijas gadījumā nepieciešamo instrumentu un metožu klāstu īstermiņa prognozēšanai. Legionella pneumophila izplatība un sekvenču tipu daudzveidība Latvijas viesnīcu ūdensapgādes sistēmās

Legionella pneumophila ir nosacīti patogēna, dabiskās un mākslīgi radītās saldūdens ūdenskrātuvēs sastopama baktērija, kas spēj izraisīt infekcijas slimību – legionelozi. Lai noskaidrotu L. pneumophila izplatību Latvijā, no 40 viesnīcu ūdensapgādes sistēmām noņemti 240 karstā ūdens paraugi un testēti uz L. pneumophila klātbūtni. No pētījumā iesaistītajām viesnīcām 25 (65 %) viesnīcās konstatēts vismaz viens Legionella pozitīvs paraugs. Maksimālais L. pneumophila koloniju veidojošo vienību skaits vienā paraugā bija 1,1 x 104 kvv/l. Ar MALDI-TOF MS apstiprināti 99 L. pneumophila un 9 L. rubrilucens izolāti. Casein genes are highly polymorphic and the high degree of variability has qualitative and quantitative effects on milk composition thereby affecting chemical, physical and technological properties of goat milk. The aim of this work was to evaluate the genetic polymorphisms of the αs2-casein (CSN1S2) gene in the endangered Girgentana dairy goat breed in order to assess the genotypes distribution, as it is known genotype influences technological and nutritional milk properties. Sin embargo, el papel de la NT-3 como modulador de las funciones cardiovasculares en la edad adulta no ha sido investigado con detalle. El objetivo de la presente Tesis es determinar la expresión de NT-3 y TrkC en el sistema cardiovascular humano y de roedores, así como el papel de la vía NT-3/TrkC como moduladora de las funciones cardiovasculares y su relación con las enfermedades a este nivel. Search for scalar leptoquarks in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV with the ATLAS experiment

An inclusive search for a new-physics signature of lepton-jet resonances has been performed by the ATLAS experiment. Scalar leptoquarks, pair-produced in pp collisions at s √s = 13 TeV at the large hadron collider, have been considered. An integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb-1, corresponding to the full 2015 dataset was used. First (second) generation leptoquarks were sought in events with two electrons (muons) and two or more jets. The observed event yield in each channel is consistent with Standard Model background expectations. Search for the Decay of the Higgs Boson to Charm Quarks with the ATLAS Experiment

A direct search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of charm quarks is presented. Associated production of the Higgs and Z bosons, in the decay mode ZH→ℓ+ℓ−c¯c is studied. A data set with an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 of pp collisions at √s=13TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC is used. The H→c¯c signature is identified using charm-tagging algorithms. The observed (expected) upper limit on σ(pp→ZH)×B(H→c¯c) is 2.7 (3.9+2.1−1.1) pb at the 95% confidence level for a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, while the standard model value is 26 fb.
Beam-induced and cosmic-ray backgrounds observed in the ATLAS detector during the LHC 2012 proton-proton running period

This paper discusses various observations on beam-induced and cosmic-ray backgrounds in the ATLAS detector during the LHC 2012 proton-proton run. Building on published results based on 2011 data, the correlations between background and residual pressure of the beam vacuum are revisited. Ghost charge evolution over 2012 and its role for backgrounds are evaluated. New methods to monitor ghost charge with beam-gas rates are presented and observations of LHC abort gap population by ghost charge are discussed in detail.
