DFT calculation of NMR delta(Cd-113) in cadmium complexes

We have tested several DFT protocols, at the non-relativistic and relativistic ZORA (scalar and spin–orbit) levels, for the calculation of the 113Cd chemical shifts, δ(113Cd), for a number of cadmium complexes accounting for both different local coordination environments on the metal center, involving N, O and S ligands, and different geometrical arrangements. Moreover, suitable models as reference compounds for δ(113Cd) evaluation have been set up in order to propose a complete computational approach to calculate δ(113Cd) for cadmium complexes. COLORED NOISE EFFECTS ON GHOST STOCHASTIC RESONANCE

International audience; We analyze the Ghost Stochastic Resonance (GSR) effect in an electronic circuit exactly ruled by the FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) equations, both numerically and experimentally. When the circuit is excited with a bichromatic driving with two close frequencies, we show that for an appropriate noise intensity the circuit response exhibits a ghost frequency which is not present in the biharmonic input signal. In this paper, we highlight the e ects of colored noise on GSR.

Noise estimation from digital step-model signal

International audience; This paper addresses the noise estimation in the digital domain and proposes a noise estimator based on the step signal model. It is efficient for any distribution of noise because it does not rely only on the smallest amplitudes in the signal or image. The proposed approach uses polarized/directional derivatives and a nonlinear combination of these derivatives to estimate the noise distribution (e.g., Gaussian, Poisson, speckle, etc.). The moments of this measured distribution can be computed and are also calculated theoretically on the basis of noise distribution models. A comparative study of noise effects in a FitzHugh-Nagumo circuit

International audience; This paper focuses on the behaviour of a nonlinear FitzHugh-Nagumo circuit in the stochastic case that is in presence of noise and without deterministic driving. When the circuit is tuned below the Andronov-Hopf bifurcation, classical coherence res- onance signature is revealed. We compare the stochastic response of the system when the noise acts on two different parameters of the system. It is experimentally shown that an enhancement of the systems response can be achieved when the noise is directly added into the nonlinearity.

Fractal Weyl law for open quantum chaotic maps

We study the semiclassical quantization of Poincar\'e maps arising in scattering problems with fractal hyperbolic trapped sets. The main application is the proof of a fractal Weyl upper bound for the number of resonances/scattering poles in small domains near the real axis. This result encompasses the case of several convex (hard) obstacles satisfying a no-eclipse condition.

The inhibitor of apoptosis protein cIAP1 (cellular inhibitor of apoptosis protein-1) from the IAP family (Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein) is an oncogene with an E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. cIAP1 is relocalized from the nucleus to the cytoplasm during the differentiation of many kind of cellular models (macrophages, dendritic cells, colon epithelial cells, hematopoietic stem cells, cardiomyocytes) and this relocalization is associated with a proliferation arrest. How to Enrich Description Logics with Fuzziness

International audience; The paper describes the relation between fuzzy and non-fuzzy description logics. It gives an overview about current research in these areas and describes the difference between tasks for description logics and fuzzy logics. The paper also deals with the transformation properties of description logics to fuzzy logics and backwards. While the process of transformation from a description logic to a fuzzy logic is a trivial inclusion, the other way of reducing information from fuzzy logic to description logic is a difficult task, that will be topic of future work.
