Background Copper(II) is a heavy metal whose levels have increased in some marine ecosystems to polluting levels. Dinoflagellates, an important phytoplankton group, are at the base of aquatic food chains and bioaccumulation of copper by these microorganisms can result in complex ecosystem alterations, so we investigated how copper disturbs those cells. Evaluation of Student Teachers’ Perceived Quantitative Workload and Usefulness of an On-line Elementary Science Education Course Unit

We have designed a 1 ECTS on-line science pedagogy unit as a part of a 6 ECTS science education course for elementary school student teachers. To improve the unit, we asked 169 participants to estimate their use of time and the usefulness of the themes and contents in it. We analysed the responses in the framework of students’ perceived workload. The Basics of School Science was perceived as the most useful section, followed by Science Teaching and Learning Methods and Basics of Science and Scientific Knowledge in Schools, respectively. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between enjoyment, perceived competence, fundamental movement skills, and physical activity engagement of Grade 7 students participating in Finnish physical education. Näiden ympäristöjen suunnittelussa on opetukselle asetettujen vaatimusten huomioimisen lisäksi oleellista ymmärtää yksilön tavat kokea ja ymmärtää käytössä oleva teknologia. The current study explores how individuals' tendency to empathize with others (trait empathy) modulates interaction and social entrainment in dyadic dance in a free movement context using perceptual and computationally derived measures. Stimuli consisting of 24 point-light animations were created using motion capture data selected from a sample of 99 dyads, based on self-reported trait empathy. Individuals whose Empathy Quotient (EQ) scores were in the top or bottom quartile of all scores were considered to have high or low empathy, respectively, and twelve dyads comprised of four high-high, four low-low, and four high-low empathy combinations were identified. Tas ļoti piesaista pētnieku uzmanību, jo šie potenciāli bioaktīvie savienojumi var būtiski ietekmēt ūdens kvalitāti un ūdens ekosistēmas, kā arī cilvēka veselību. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt ibuprofēnu, paracetamolu (acetaminofēnu), diklofenaku, amoksicilīnu, ipidakrīna hidrohlorīdu, hlorpiramīna hidrohlorīdu un sulpirīdu saturošu preparātu toksiskumu, izmantojot divas biotestēšanas metodes: Daphnia magna akūtā toksiskuma testu un aļģu augšanas inhibēšanas testu.
