Preparation and crystal structure of the oxalato-bridged CrIII–AgItwo-dimensional compound {Ag3(H2O)[Cr(dpa)(ox)2]3}n·2nH2O (dpa = 2,2′-dipyridylamin…
2004
The reaction of the mononuclear complex [Cr(dpa)(ox)2]− (dpa = 2,2-dipyridylamine) with Ag+ in aqueous solution affords the two-dimensional compound {Ag3(H2O)[Cr(dpa)(ox)2]3}n·2nH2O (1) whose structure has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Six crystallographically independent metal atoms (three chromium and three silver atoms) occur in 1. The three [Cr(dpa)(ox)2]− units in 1 act as ligands towards the silver atoms through the two oxalate groups. Each oxalate group acts as bridging ligand adopting five coordination modes: bis-bidentate, bis-bidentate/monodentate (outer), bis-bidentate/monodentate (inner), bidentate/bis-monodentate (outer) and bidentate/monodentate (outer).…
Assessing the effect of chromium pollution on benthic foraminiferal community: morphological vs. environmental metabarcoding approaches
The purpose of this experimental study is to assess the impact of different concentrations of chromium (Cr) through time on the diversity of cultured benthic foraminifera combining two morphological approaches for the identification of living specimens that are Rose Bengal (RB) staining and CellTracker Green (CTG) labelling as well as environmental DNA and RNA metabarcoding. Seven tanks/aquaria with different concentrations of Cr in water, namely 100 ppt, 1 ppb, 10 ppb, 100 ppb, 1 ppm and 10 ppm plus the control were used. A mesocosm was extracted from each tank at pre-established time (1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks 6 weeks and 8 weeks). Morphological analyses produced 6 datasets based on staini…

Cr- and Sb-containing TiO 2 inorganic orange nano-pigments prepared by a relative long hydrocarbon chain polyol
2016
Abstract We report the preparation of a series of orange Cr- and Sb-containing TiO 2 nano-pigments by the polyol via using triethylenglycol (TEG). Poorly crystallized anatase nanopowders with nominal stoichiometric compositions Cr x Sb x Ti 1−2x O 2 , with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2, were obtained by heating at 180 °C a solution of antimony acetate, chromium acetylacetone and titanium butoxide in TEG. The transition temperature of the chromium- and antimonium-containing anatase nanoparticles into the rutile crystalline form occurred over the range of temperature between 500 and 650 °C, depending on the dopant amount. After annealing at 800 °C for short time the series of samples displaying the rutile stru…
A Novel 1D-AF Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Chromium(II) Methyl Phosphonate Dihydrate: Synthesis, X-Ray Crystal and Molecular Structure, and Magnetic Prop…
2010
Light-blue crystals of chromium(II) methyl phosphonate dihydrate, [Cr(CH(3)PO(3))(H(2)O)].H(2)O, were obtained in water by mixing filtered solutions of methylphosphonic acid and chromium(II) chloride in the presence of urea in an inert atmosphere. The compound was characterized by elemental analysis, TGA-DSC, X-ray crystallography, magnetic measurements, and UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopies. The crystal and molecular structures (orthorhombic Pnma (no. 62): a = 4.4714(5) A, b = 6.8762(7) A, c = 19.180(2) A, Z = 4) have been solved using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The chromium(II) ion is six-coordinated by oxygens (4 + 2) to form an elongated octahedron, with the four equatorial oxy…
Primary endpoint results of the OMEGA Study: One-year clinical outcomes after implantation of a novel platinum chromium bare metal stent.
2014
Bare metal stents (BMS) have similar rates of death and myocardial infarction (MI) compared to drug-eluting stents (DES). DES lower repeat revascularization rates compared to BMS, but may have higher rates of late stent thrombosis (ST) potentially due to impaired endothelialization requiring longer dual anti-platelet therapy (DAPT). OMEGA evaluated a novel BMS designed to have improved deliverability and radiopacity, in comparison to currently available platforms.OMEGA was a prospective, multicenter, single-arm study enrolling 328 patients at 37 sites (US and Europe). Patients received the OMEGA stent (bare platinum chromium element stent) for the treatment of de novo native coronary artery…
Influence of reactive element oxide coatings on the high temperature cyclic oxidation of chromia-forming steels
2003
Abstract The beneficial effects of reactive element oxide coatings, Y2O3, Nd2O3 and Yb2O3, on the cyclic oxidation behaviour of a Fe–30Cr model alloy, were studied at 950 °C in air under atmospheric pressure. The oxide scale grown on uncoated samples started to spall after 2 cycles, because of its poor adherence. The coated specimens remarkably resisted to the thermal shocks, since no oxide scale spallation or cracks could be observed, even after 1000 h of cycling experiments. The surface oxide scale consisted of facetted oxide grains on the uncoated samples. On the contrary, it exhibited a fine-grained structure on the coated specimens. The reactive element beneficial effect was ascribed t…

Tailoring magnetic properties of electrodeposited thin films of the molecule-based magnet Cr5.5(CN)12 11.5H2O
2012
This paper reports on molecular-based magnetic thin films of Prussian blue analogues (PBA) with high critical temperatures composed of mixed-valence chromium cyanides. The thin films of PBA were synthesized by means of electrodeposition technique. Morphology and magnetic study are presented in a function of electrochemical deposition conditions. We present the electrochemical methods as a promising and effective tool for preparing molecular-based magnetic thin films of Prussian blue analogue.
Mechanism of porous core electroosmotic pump flow injection system and its application to determination of chromium(VI) in waste-water.
1999
An electroosmotic pump flow injection system is introduced in this paper. According to electroosmotic theory, the pump's properties were described. A large flow range (mul min(-1)-ml min(-1)), moderate carrier pressure (0.15 MPa), reduced performance voltage (500 V) and stable flow rate (RSD3.0% in 4 h) are the main properties of the pump. NH(4)OH (0.35 mM) was used as carrier for improving the pump's flow stability. The electroosmotic efficiency of the pump's medium, porous core, can be recovered and regenerated. A sandwich zone was used for sample and reagent introduction in order to adapt to the pump performance. Flow injection-spectrophotometry was employed for the determination of Cr(V…
