IkappaB kinase 2 determines oligodendrocyte loss by non-cell-autonomous activation of NF-kappaB in the central nervous system
2011
The IκB kinase complex induces nuclear factor kappa B activation and has recently been recognized as a key player of autoimmunity in the central nervous system. Notably, IκB kinase/nuclear factor kappa B signalling regulates peripheral myelin formation by Schwann cells, however, its role in myelin formation in the central nervous system during health and disease is largely unknown. Surprisingly, we found that brain-specific IκB kinase 2 expression is dispensable for proper myelin assembly and repair in the central nervous system, but instead plays a fundamental role for the loss of myelin in the cuprizone model. During toxic demyelination, inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B activation by …
A multi-technique, micrometer- to atomic-scale description of a synthetic analogue of chukanovite, Fe-2(CO3)(OH)(2)
2014
International audience; A synthetic analogue of chukanovite Fe-2(CO3)(OH)(2) is formed during experimental work on iron-clay interactions simulating the cooling of containers in radioactive waste repositories. Despite its small size and the mixture with other minerals it is undoubtedly identified by X-Ray Diffraction, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy. For the first time, the structural characterisation of a synthetic chukanovite is carried out thanks to the combination of Automated Diffraction Tomography and Precession Electron Diffraction. Refinement results and comparison with literature data show that the structure…
International Conference for Mathematical Modeling and Optimization in Mechanics : book of abstracts : University of Jyväskylä, March 6-7, 2014
2014
This book of abstracts presents materials of the International Conference for Mathematical Modeling and Optimization in Mechanics (MMOM 2014) 6-7 March 2014, Jyväskylä, Finland. This event is dedicated to Professor Nikolay Banichuk in occasion of his 70th anniversary. It is aimed to present the latest results of leading scientists in mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and optimization theory and to discuss the state of the art and open problems in the field. The book is divided in five sections: 1. Mathematical Modelling of Complex Systems 2. Stability Analysis and Vibration 3. Optimization 4. Methods of Numerical Analysis 5. Shape Optimization
