The report analyzes the Italian criminal law related to four different kinds of traffic: smuggling of migrants, human trafficking, drug trafficking and cigarette smuggling. The aim of this paper is to present the palaeo-environmental approaches and preliminary results in the district of Northern Imera river, corresponding to the territory of the ancient cities of Himera (destroyed in 409 BC) and Thermae Himeraeae (founded in 407 BC). The area is located in the North-West of Sicily, and it is mainly characterized by hilly landscape crossed by rivers facing the Thyrrenian Sea, and by a mountainous landscape (the Madonie) on the eastern side. A tre anni dall'inizio del progetto di prospezione archeologica a carattere intensivo e sistematico condotto nel comprensorio di Cignana (circa 20 km ad Est di Agrigento), si illustrano i risultati preliminari della ricerca. Di particolare interesse è la fitta trama di insediamenti nei quali si rinviene solo industria litica in selce, cui si affiancano i numerosi frequentati nell'età del Bronzo; significative le attestazioni di età arcaica e classica e delle ceramiche della facies di S. Angelo Muxaro-Polizzello.

Il Report analizza il sistema penale spagnolo attraverso la disciplina di contrasto a quattro diversi traffici: favoreggiamento dell'immigrazione clandestina, tratta di esseri umani, traffico di stupefacenti e contrabbando di sigarette. Il Report è parte di una più vasta ricerca ("The New Era of Smuggling in the Mediterranean Sea", NESMeS) volta ad analizzare i suddetti traffici all'interno del Mediterraneo, con specifico riferimento ai seguenti Paesi: Germania, Grecia, Italia, Portogallo e Spagna. Stereoselective synthesis and determination of the cytotoxic properties of spicigerolide and three of its stereoisomers.

Stereoselective syntheses of the naturally occurring, cytotoxic lactone spicigerolide and three nonnatural stereoisomers thereof are described. The commercially available sugar l-rhamnose was in all cases the chiral starting material. Key steps in each of these syntheses were asymmetric Brown allylations and ring-closing metatheses. The cytotoxic activities of the four lactones against a range of tumoral lines were then determined.

Introduction: Does a correlation exist between smoking cessation and recurrence of non muscle invasive bladder carcinoma (NMI-BC) after TUR and adjuvant intravescical chemotherapy? Up today just few retrospective studies tried to answer this question. There is evidence that quitting decreases the risk of recurrence but nowadays it is still controversial how and how long it takes from quitting to reduce the risk (1-3). Maģistra darbā „Smēķēšanas dūmu ķīmiskā sastāva un izplatības mainības novērtējums iekštelpu vidē” raksturota iekštelpu gaisa kvalitāte, “slimās ēkas sindroms”, to veicinošie faktori, smēķēšanas process un tā ietekme uz veselību. Smēķēšanas laikā radušos dūmu sastāvā ir vairāk nekā 5000 ķīmisku vielu, kuras izplatās telpā un rada piesārņojumu, kas kaitīgs ir ne tikai aktīvajam, bet arī pasīvajām smēķētājam. Pētījums veikts, lai novērtētu šo dūmu ķīmisko sastāvu un vielu noturību iekštelpu vidē.
