Separating convective and stratiform rainfall is still today an open challenge, especially because of the difficulty in defining a clear distinction between the two rainfall regimes. Changes of total annual runoff distribution, high and low discharges in Latvian rivers The paper examines climate change impacts on the hydrological regime of nineteen different river basins in Latvia. Hydrological data series for the period of 1951-2006 were analysed for river basins of four hydrological districts: Western, Central, Northern and Eastern. Climate change has influenced the temporal and spatial distribution of total annual river runoff and high and low flows in Latvia at the turn of century. The Aqua-Planet Experiment (APE): CONTROL SST Simulation

Climate simulations by 16 atmospheric general circulation models (AGCMs) are compared on an aqua-planet, a water-covered Earth with prescribed sea surface temperature varying only in latitude. The idealised configuration is designed to expose differences in the circulation simulated by different models. Basic features of the aqua-planet climate are characterised by comparison with Earth. The models display a wide range of behaviour. The balanced component of the tropospheric mean flow, and mid-latitude eddy covariances subject to budget constraints, vary relatively little among the models. In autumn 2015, it was announced that the government would execute massive budget cuts to education. This was due to the efforts of the new government to save money and balance the state economics. The amount of money that the state intended to save from the basic education, also known as primary and lower secondary schools nationwide was estimated to be around 40 million euros. 30 million euros out 40 million euro savings was from group size money and 10 million of development money. Šī tēze “Filmu nosaukumu tulkošanas īpatnības no vācu valodas krievu valodā” ir uzrakstīta par kino nosaukumu tulkošanas metodēm un funkcijām. Ievadā aprakstīta izvēlētās tēmas aktualitāte un bakalaura darba mērķis. Tēzes mērķis ir izstrādāt attiecīgā tulkojuma pamatprincipus un pēc tam noteikt izplatītākās nosaukuma tulkošanas metodes. Darba teorētiskā nozīmība izpaužas kā vācu filmu pareizas tulkošanas krievu valodā analīze un izpēte, pamatojoties uz analizēto piemēru materiāliem. Darba struktūru atbilstoši pētījuma mērķiem veido ievads, trīs nodaļas, secinājumi, literatūras saraksts un pielikums. Darbs sastāv no 41 lappuses un 1 pielikuma. Tēzes rakstīšanai tika izmantoti kopumā 47 avoti.

Income and Physical Activity among Adults: Evidence from Self-Reported and Pedometer-Based Physical Activity Measurements

This study examined the relationship between income and physical activity by using three measures to illustrate daily physical activity: the self-reported physical activity index for leisure-time physical activity, pedometer-based total steps for overall daily physical activity, and pedometer-based aerobic steps that reflect continuous steps for more than 10 min at a time. The study population consisted of 753 adults from Finland (mean age 41.7 years; 64% women) who participated in 2011 in the follow-up of the ongoing Young Finns study. This paper examines the relationship between body composition and earnings in a developing country setting. We use body mass index, waist circumference and hip circumference. Exploiting the panel structure of our longitudinal survey, we find that along with BMI, waist circumference is related to higher earnings in Indonesia. peerReviewed

Memorable Experiences with Sad Music : Reasons, Reactions and Mechanisms of Three Types of Experiences

Reactions to memorable experiences of sad music were studied by means of a survey administered to a convenience (N = 1577), representative (N = 445), and quota sample (N = 414). The survey explored the reasons, mechanisms, and emotions of such experiences. Memorable experiences linked with sad music typically occurred in relation to extremely familiar music, caused intense and pleasurable experiences, which were accompanied by physiological reactions and positive mood changes in about a third of the participants. The paper presents a microsimulation approach for assessing the safety performance of turbo-roundabouts where Cooperative Autonomous Vehicles “CAVs” have been introduced into the traffic mix alongside conventional vehicles “CVs”. Based on the analysis of vehicle trajectories from VISSIM and subsequent analysis of traffic conflicts through the Surrogate Safety Assessment Model (SSAM), the research aims to evaluate the safety benefits of turbo-roundabouts where the lanes are physically separated by raised curbs, compared to roundabouts without such curbs.
