Global stability of coupled Markovian switching reaction–diffusion systems on networks

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the stability problem for some Markovian switching reaction–diffusion coupled systems on networks (MSRDCSNs). By using the Lyapunov function, we establish some novel stability principles for stochastic stability, asymptotically stochastic stability, globally asymptotically stochastic stability and almost surely exponential stability of the MSRDCSNs. These stability principles have a close relation to the topology property of the network. We also provide a systematic method for constructing global Lyapunov function for these MSRDCSNs by using graph theory. The new method can help analyze the dynamics of complex networks.

A role for miR-142-3p in colony-stimulating factor 1-induced monocyte differentiation into macrophages

AbstractThe differentiation of human peripheral blood monocytes into macrophages can be reproduced ex vivo by culturing the cells in the presence of colony-stimulating factor 1 (CSF1). Using microarray profiling to explore the role of microRNAs (miRNAs), we identified a dramatic decrease in the expression of the hematopoietic specific miR-142-3p. Up- and down-regulation of this miRNA in primary human monocytes altered CSF1-induced differentiation of monocytes, as demonstrated by changes in the expression of the cell surface markers CD16 and CD163. Power monitoring in dielectric-loaded surface plasmon-polariton waveguides

We report on propagating mode power monitoring in dielectric-loaded surface plasmon-polariton waveguides (DLSPPWs) by measuring the resistance of gold stripes supporting the DLSPPW mode propagation. Inevitable absorption of the DLSPPW mode in metal causes an increase in the stripe temperature and, thereby, in its resistance whose variations are monitored with an external Wheatstone bridge being accurately balanced in the absence of radiation in a waveguide. Fiber-coupled dielectric-loaded plasmonic waveguides.

Fiber in- and out-coupling of radiation guided by dielectric-loaded surface plasmon-polariton waveguides (DLSPPWs) is realized using intermediate tapered dielectric waveguides. The waveguide structures fabricated by large-scale UV-lithography consist of 1-microm-thick polymer ridges tapered from 10-microm-wide ridges deposited directly on a magnesium fluoride substrate to 1-microm-wide ridges placed on a 50-nm-thick and 100-microm-wide gold stripe. Precise measurement of 1H 90° pulse in solid-state NMR spectroscopy for complex and heterogeneous molecular systems

The 90 degrees pulse calibration is essential in NMR spectroscopy to prevent artefacts in the liquid state or to enhance cross-polarization efficiency in the solid state. We verified pulse-angle (PA) errors due to circuit impedances in solid-state NMR and suggested a possible solution to prevent the inconvenience of PA errors. The classic pulse sequences used to calibrate (1)H 90 degrees pulse lengths by direct detection of protons or by cross-polarization were modified in order to replace single (1)H pulses with (1)H pulse trains. Optimizing the magnetic circuit of an actuator

The paper presents a modern method of constructive optimization of a plunger actuator with axial symmetry based on the electromagnetic simulation of several variants of magnetic circuit and excitation currents. On the basis of the force calculation developed by this actuator and the magnetic induction values in the core, we calculated the kinematic actuator parameters. Experimental determinations confirmed the precision and utility of the optimization method by electromagnetic simulation of the actuator.

Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory (RST) proposes a widely used taxonomy of human personality linked to individual differences at both behavioral and neuropsychological levels that describe a predisposition to psychopathology.
