AbstractThis paper contributes to the knowledge by examining the role of smart tourism technologies in destination resilience amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering tourism in the COVID-19 crisis as an emerging stream of research, the study also explores how African cities deployed smart tourism technologies and how effective it has been in creating resilient and safe destinations. The applicability of Web 2.0 as an e-Government tool is still a fully unexploited area due to the software novelty in this regard and the lack of commitment of public bodies. The current paper sets out to offer a solution to acknowledge information of public interest that might be of use to an e-Citizen. Currently, social networks have proven useful in keeping in touch with friends, research, collaboration and political activism. Data mining through social network is a relatively new subject, which has been intensely approached by researchers as of late. The results presented in the current paper have been obtained using a crawler on Twitter.

Autor artykułu postawił sobie za cel opisanie przebiegu konfliktu przestrzennego oraz analizę procesu partycypacji społecznej w kontekście planowanej budowy trasy średnicowej przebiegającej przez wyspę Pasiekę w Opolu. Posługując się metodą studium przypadku podjęto próbę znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytania: czy władze samorządowe zastosowały „dobre praktyki” postulowane przez organizacje pozarządowe oraz jaką rolę odegrał w nich ruch miejski.

The crisis of values, authority and identity that affects contemporary Europe encourages the Church to act that will protect Christians from axiological and morał degradation. One of the areas that can do this through their methods is Catholic social teaching. The article is a presentation of the most important assumptions of Catholic social science and an indication of how concepts of the nation and State together with goals and rights and obligations should be implemented so that both the Citizen and the rulers can strive for the common good.

In this article I shall seek to demonstrate the remarkable contemporary relevance of John Dewey’s pedagogic ideas, found in publications such as My Pedagogic Creed, The School and Society and Democracy and Education. Through a brief analysis of these works I will highlight how much Dewey believed in a school that is connected to society and which places itself at its service, contributing to the birth or consolidation of a democracy understood not just as a form of government, but as a way of life.
