Modelling the effects of a bushfire on erosion in a Mediterranean basin

A bushfire occurred in the Asinaro River basin in July 1998. The basin area is 55 km2 and about 74% of the whole area was set on fire. The aim of this paper is to test the influence of fire on both soil erosion and the spatial distribution of the areas characterized by the greatest sediment yield values. The RUSLE model and a spatial disaggregation criterion for sediment delivery processes (SEDD model) were used to test the effects of the bushfire. The basin was divided into 854 morphological units for calculating the topographic factor. The RUSLE climatic factor R was calculated using daily rainfall data. Capacity-based indicators of soil physical quality (SPQ) and pore distribution parameters were proposed to assess the effects of compost amendment but their determination was limited to desorption water retention experiments. This study also considered the pore size distribution obtained from adsorption experiments to establish the effectiveness of compost amendment in modifying the physical and hydrological attributes of a sandy loam soil. Il lessico utilizzato in iscrizioni di età ellenistico-romana, in cui si fa riferimento al soggiorno di guarnigioni in città, rivela una comunicazione che privilegia la sfera emotiva per ottenere privilegi o sgravi da abusi. In particolare sono oggetto di analisi: decreti civici in onore di comandanti elogiati per l’eutaxia; lettere reali che contengono provvedimenti volti a reprimere gli abusi degli eserciti, probabilmente risposte ad ambascerie delle popolazioni che lamentavano situazioni di disagio; documenti che riguardano città ellenistiche ed imperium Romanum, con ottenimento di esenzione dall’alloggiamento dei soldati attraverso l’intervento di evergeti.
