Lo scopo principale dell’articolo è quello di descrivere la situazione localizzativa ed abitativa dei migranti nella città di Palermo, all’interno dell’esposizione, confortata dai dati statistici, del fenomeno migratorio nel contesto nazionale. Si evidenziano le differenze e le peculiarità dell’ondata migratoria nel nord e nel sud del paese rappresentandone le diverse tipologie e le motivazioni delle scelte geografiche di insediamento. International audience; The “multicentric city” is an oversimplified view of the contemporary city. The term “center” covers a multi-faceted reality. A center is not only a concentration of activities. It also means domination,power, creation and interaction. Consequently, the “secondary centers” do not necessarily replicate the main center and they are clearly differentiated. We define the “pole” as a concentration ofactivities, whatever their nature, and the “center” as a concentration of high-order and strategic activities, so that the so-called multicentric cities may be both multipolar and monocentric. Eco-efficiency assessment of municipal solid waste services: Influence of exogenous variables.

Abstract Improving the eco-efficiency of municipalities in the provision of municipal solid waste (MSW) services is fundamental in the context of a circular economy. This study evaluates the eco-efficiency of a sample of Spanish municipalities, integrating the total cost as input, recyclable waste as desirable output, and unsorted waste as undesirable output. Following a pioneering approach, the weighted Russell directional distance model (a non-radial data envelopment analysis model) was employed, which allowed us to obtain a global inefficiency score and individual inefficiency scores for each variable integrated in the model.
