Adaptive backstepping based consensus tracking of uncertain nonlinear systems with event-triggered communication

2021

Abstract This paper investigates the consensus tracking problem for a class of uncertain high-order nonlinear systems with parametric uncertainties and event-triggered communication. Under a directed communication condition, a totally distributed adaptive backstepping based control scheme is presented. Specifically, a decentralized triggering condition is adopted in this paper such that continuous monitoring of neighboring states, as required in some existing results, can be avoided. Besides, to handle the non-differentiability problem of virtual controllers, which arises from the utilization of neighboring states collected only at the triggering instants, the virtual controllers in each re…

Approximation-based adaptive tracking control of stochastic nonlinear systems with a general form

2014

In this paper, an approximation-based adaptive tracking control scheme is proposed for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems with a more general structure. Fuzzy logical systems are used to approximate unknown nonlinearities in the controller design procedure and the backstepping technique is utilized to construct a state-feedback adaptive controller. The proposed controller can guarantee that all the signals in the closed-loop system are fourth-moment semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded and the tracking error eventually converges to a small neighborhood around the origin. Simulation results are used to show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

L’écriture et le graphisme à l’ère de la linguistique psychologique

2016

This study deals with the conception of “writing” within the German humanities during the « psychological turn » of the last half of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth centuries. The focal point is “graphism” and “writing” understood as “expressive movements” (Ausdrucksbewegungen), this notion being bound to the concept of “verbal gesture” within the trend of “psychological linguistics” (1850-1930). Inspired initially by the morphological and physiognomonic tradition (J. Lavater, J. W. Goethe, J. Engel, C. Carus, Th. Piderit), this conception considers language as a particular kind of “expressive movements”. This vision comes back to the German psychology of consciousness elaborated by J…

Hydraulic kinetics of the graft union in different Olea europaea L. scion/rootstock combinations

2007

The hydraulic resistance of young olive trees grafted on rootstocks with contrasting size-controlling potential was measured 30, 90, 360 and 480 days after grafting. Olive (Olea europaea L.) clones inducing plant vigorous growth (Leccino ‘Minerva’, LM) or dwarfing (Leccino ‘Dwarf’, LD) were studied in different scion/rootstock combinations (LD/LD, LD/LM, LM/LD, LM/LM). Plants growing on LD root systems developed lower leaf surface areas (about 50% less) than plants grafted on LM rootstocks. Graft union represented the largest fraction (up to 85%) of whole-plant hydraulic resistance 30 days after grafting, and still represented an important fraction of it 2 months later (40–55%). Four-hundre…

Four-hundred and eighty days after grafting the hydraulic resistance of the graft union became negligible (<3%) with no difference among the different scion/rootstock combinations. Our data reinforce the idea of graft hydraulics not playing a role in depressing the vigour of the scion as observable in adult plants grafted onto dwarfing rootstocks. The long time required for the vascularisation to be complete on the contrary represents the main risk for successful olive breeding.food and beveragesOlea europaea LGraft hydraulic resistanceDwarfingPlant ScienceRoot systemHPFMHydraulic resistancebiology.organism_classificationGraftingDwarfingOlive treesHorticultureOleaOleaceaeBotanyGraft hydraulic resistance; Olea europaea L.; Dwarfing; Scion; Rootstock; HPFMRootstockRootstockAgronomy and Crop ScienceEcology Evolution Behavior and Systematics

Electron Emission of Pt: Experimental Study and Comparison With Models in the Multipactor Energy Range

2016

Experimental data of secondary emission yield (SEY) and electron emission spectra of Pt under electron irradiation for normal incidence and primary energies lower than 1 keV are presented. Several relevant magnitudes, as total SEY, elastic backscattering probability, secondary emission spectrum, and backscattering coefficient, are given for different primary energies. These magnitudes are compared with theoretical or semiempirical formulas commonly used in the related literature.

The effects of benzyladenine and meta-Topolin on in vitro sprouting and regrowth after encapsulation of C35 citrange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb. × Pon…

2016

C35, a hybrid of ‘Ruby Blood’ sweet orange and trifoliate orange, is a promising Citrus rootstock, mainly due to its resistance to Citrus Tristeza Virus (CTV), one of the most serious pathology affecting citriculture. The use of resistant rootstocks, such as citranges, is an efficient tool to fight this plant disease. This implies a continuous increasing demand of resistant rootstocks, in order to carry out the turnover of sour orange, still the most used Citrus rootstock in Italy. Micropropagation, can provide innovative solutions to obtain, in a short time and in a small space, a number of plants higher than traditional propagation. Micropropagation efficiency is also affected by the cult…

Video of Current Rootstock Use and Rootstocks Needs for the future: SOUTHERN ITALY, SICILY AND ARID MEDITERRANEAN AREAS

2013

Grapevine rootstocks have been an essential component of grape growing for over 150 years as rootstocks can impart desirable characteristics for grapevine growth. This review examined Italian and Sicilian literature on rootstocks, focusing on key issues including updates on needs for the future. Other related issues include the performance of major selection traits associated with salinity, drought, potassium uptake, vegetative growth, grape and wine quality and the propagation of grafted vines. Research on rootstocks started in Italy, and of course in other European Countries, once phylloxera was imported. In Italy, phylloxera was detected in Agrate (north Italy) in August 1879, but it may…

The Italian Almond Industry: New Perspectives and Ancient Tradition

2014

The almond industry in Italy presents a high degree of structural variability that is determined by the jeopardized coexistence of old, traditional orchards and new plantations that differ each other not only in terms of age but also mainly in terms of orchard system. Apulia and Sicily still remain the most important production areas where the 90% of the almond orchards are concentrated. In this southern part of Italy, almond and its derivatives still remain really important. In the last two decades, the Italian almond industry did not show a regular trend, neither with respect to production nor to acreage. An innovative almond industry revealed its consistency year after year since 2000: s…

Propagation techniques and nursery management for the production of certified peach plants in Europe

2022

The propagation of fruit trees, particularly peaches, nectarines and canning clingstone, has reached highly specialized levels since the 1960s. Over the years, the classic seed rootstocks have been replaced by numerous rootstocks produced in vitro, expanding the range of technical solutions for the different soil and climatic growing conditions of several areas. Thanks to the new genotypes from international breeding programs, it was thus possible to renew the cultivated varietal platform several times. Propagation techniques have also undergone an evolution, adopting solutions aimed at shortening nurseries’ production cycles by using June budding or micrografting. Finally, there are differ…
