Visualizing Time Series State Changes with Prototype Based Clustering

Modern process and condition monitoring systems produce a huge amount of data which is hard to analyze manually. Previous analyzing techniques disregard time information and concentrate only for the indentification of normal and abnormal operational states. We present a new method for visualizing operational states and overall order of the transitions between them. This method is implemented to a visualization tool which helps the user to see the overall development of operational states allowing to find causes for abnormal behaviour. In the end visualization tool is tested in practice with real time series data collected from gear unit.

Adenosine monophosphate-capped gold(i) nanoclusters: synthesis and lanthanide ion-induced enhancement of their luminescence

Reduction of Au3+ in the presence of just adenosine 5′-monophosphate (AMP) and a zwitterionic organic chemical buffering agent, specifically 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid (HEPES), combined with light exposure, gives rise to luminescent, water-soluble Au+ nanoclusters (Au+ NCs). The photoluminescence of these NCs is considerably enhanced by adding Y3+ or the chemically similar Yb3+ lanthanide that leads to Au+/Y3+ and Au+/Yb3+ NCs, respectively. These NCs are characterised by absorption (steady-state), photoluminescence (steady-state and time-resolved), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Objectives: To assess the oral health status of the child population and its evolution over the 2004-2010 period. Study Design: A descriptive cross-sectional study of the entire schoolchild population of the Valencia region of Spain was conducted using cluster sampling. Seventy schools were selected. The sample size was 1373 pupils, aged 6, 12 and 15 years. The children were examined in November and December 2010, at their schools, by 6 examiners calibrated in the ICDAS II method. Epigenetic dysregulation in the developing Down syndrome cortex

Using Illumina 450K arrays, 1.85% of all analyzed CpG sites were significantly hypermethylated and 0.31% hypomethylated in fetal Down syndrome (DS) cortex throughout the genome. The methylation changes on chromosome 21 appeared to be balanced between hypo- and hyper-methylation, whereas, consistent with prior reports, all other chromosomes showed 3–11 times more hyper- than hypo-methylated sites. Abstract There is growing interest in delivering genomically informed cancer therapy. Our aim was to determine the concordance of genomic alterations between primary and recurrent breast cancer. Targeted next-generation sequencing was performed on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples, profiling 3,320 exons of 182 cancer-related genes plus 37 introns from 14 genes often rearranged in cancer. Abstract A Gram-reaction-negative bacterium, strain IMMIB L-12475 T , was isolated from blood cultures of a human with septicaemia. The yellowish orange pigmented strain contained flexirubin pigment. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain IMMIB L-12475 T belonged to the family Flavobacteriaceae , forming a distinct phyletic line that is distantly related (79.1–89.4% sequence similarity) to described genera of this family.
