Multicenter study [Abstract] Background: Controversy exists regarding the relationship of the outcome of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) with the time from symptom onset to diagnosis. Objective: To know the reasons to participate or not in a colorectal cancer (CCR) screening programme and to analyze the differences by sex, age and social class. Methods: Cross-sectional study by a telephone survey directed to a sample of men and women aged between 50-74 year old, participants (n = 383) and non participants (n = 383) in the CCR screening programme of Valencian Community. Abstract Objective: To examine the factors that influence informed participation in a Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme (CRCSP) from a gender perspective. Methods: Cross-sectional telephone survey directed to men and women invited to participate (2009-2010) in the Valencian Community CRCSP (Spain). Sample size: 785 subjects. L'argomento è talmente vasto, che ho limitato la scelta solo a quegli ambiti che, per definizione, sono molto vicini al tema. A new colorimetric sensor for fluoride is described. Compound 1 shows an open structure and its behaviour is compared with that of two related closed compounds 2 and 3. In all cases, the red colour developed in the presence of fluoride can be related to deprotonation processes, however ligand 1 gives rise to a faster colour change than 2 or 3 because of its higher flexibility. Other halides as well as carboxylates have been studied and the stoichiometry and complexation constants for the corresponding ligands have been determined. Colour image segmentation and labeling through multiedit-condensing

Abstract A new method is proposed for detecting and locating objects of interest within a colour scene under very strong variabilities in lighting conditions, object shape and pigmentation. The method is based on Nearest Neighbour classification and Multiedit-Condensing techniques and is applied to implement the vision subsystem of a robotic citric harvesting device. Experiments and results are reported showing the effectiveness of the method and illustrating its appropriateness to the proposed task.

International audience; One powerfully robust method for the study of human contingency learning is the colour-word contingency learning paradigm. In this task, participants respond to the print colour of neutral words, each of which is presented most often in one colour. The contingencies between words and colours are learned, as indicated by faster and more accurate responses when words are presented in their expected colour relative to an unexpected colour.
