Nykykoulussa on edessä muutoksia, kun perusopetuksen uusi opetussuunnitelma otetaan käyttöön vuoden 2016 syksystä eteenpäin. Uusi opetussuunnitelma painottaa eheyttämistä ja monialaisia oppimiskokonaisuuksia enemmän edelliseen opetussuunnitelmaan verrattuna. Käytännössä kaikkien koulujen velvoitteena on siis tarjota oppilaille integroivia ja monialaisia oppimiskokonaisuuksia opetuksessaan (Norrena 2015: 25, Perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelman perusteet 2014). Abstract. Only a few studies have examined the direction of associations between academic achievement, interest, and sel f-concept of ability simultaneously by using longitudinal data over several school years. To exam ine the cross-lagged relationships between students’ interest, self-concept of ability, and performance in mathematics and reading, longitudinal data from Grade 1 to Grade 7 of comprehensive school was gathered from 216 students. In this research the interest was to understand the discursive formation of educational equality in political texts concerning the national core curriculum in Finland in the beginning of 2010s. The research problem was to describe and analyze discourses of educational equality and to analyze who are portrayed as actors of educational equality. School Tracking and Mental Health

We examine the effects of a comprehensive school reform on mental health. The reform postponed the tracking of students into vocational and academic schools from age 11 to age 16. The reform was implemented gradually across Finnish municipalities between 1972 and 1977. We use difference-in-differences variation and administrative data. Our results show that there is no discernible effect on mental health related hospitalizations on average even though the effect is precisely estimated. Heterogeneity analysis shows that, after the reform, females from highly-educated families were more likely to be hospitalized for depression. nonPeerReviewed
