ČUKSTOŠĀS GALERIJAS MODU MIKROREZONATORU DISPERSIJAS OPTIMIZĒŠANA KERRA FREKVENČU ĶEMMES ĢENERĒŠANAI VIENA SOLITONA REŽĪMĀ

Viens no galvenajiem čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru pielietojumiem ir frekvenču ķemmes ģenerēšana, kur monohromatiska lāzera signāls tiek pārkonvertēts vairākās frekvencēs ar regulāru intervālu starp tām. Priekš pielietojuma telekomunikācijās pie ierosinošā lāzera viļņa garuma 1550 nm frekvenču intervālam starp modām vajag būt ap 100 GHz. Lai panāktu frekvenču ķemmes ģenerāciju pie šādiem nosacījumiem, ir nepieciešams optimizēt rezonatora ģeometriju, lai tā raksturīgā dispersija ir līdzsvarā ar Kerra nelinearitāti. Uz čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru bāzes veidotu sensoru modelēšana

Darbā tiek pētīti uz čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru bāzes veidoti sensori. Tiek veiktas datorsimulācijas ar programmu COMSOL Multiphysics. Datorsimulācijās tiek modelēti dažāda izmēra temperatūras sensori, kas atsevišķos gadījumos tiek salīdzināts ar eksperimentu. Vēl tiek modelēts sensors bio-slāņa biezuma noteikšanai, kas aplīp ap mikrorezonatoru. Kā arī sensors vienas molekulas noteikšanai.

Čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru modelēšana

Dotajā darbā tiek aprakstīta teorija un modelēšanas rezultāti par gaismas izplatīšanos sfēriskos Čukstošās galerijas modu optiskajos mikrorezonatoros ar diametru 1 - 5 um. Modelēšanai tiek izmantota COMSOL Multiphysics datorprogramma ar viļņu optikas moduli (Wave Optics Module). Tiek apskatītas sistēmas prizma-rezonators un optiskā šķiedra-rezonators. Kā galvenie kontroles parametri tiek izmantotas elektriskā lauka Ez komponentes kartes un laikā vidējotā enerģijas blīvuma vērtība rezonatorā. 2D vidē tiek modelēts gaistošās gaismas lauks, rezonatorā esošā starojuma atkarība no gaismas krišanas leņķa prizmā, šķiedras platuma, rezonatora attāluma līdz prizmai/šķiedrai, rezonatora izmēra un krī…

Study of drilling and welding laser : dynamics of keyhole

The aim of the present work is to study experimentally the formation of the capillary during the drilling and welding by laser beam and to develop the numerical simulation which allows following the dynamics and the evolution of the keyhole. The zinc was chosen as a test material because its thermodynamical properties are well known. To simplify the problem, in the first place the drilling mechanism was studied. Design and Operation of a Windowless Gas Target Internal to a Solenoidal Magnet for Use with a Megawatt Electron Beam

A windowless hydrogen gas target of nominal thickness $10^{19}$ cm$^{-2}$ is an essential component of the DarkLight experiment, which is designed to utilize the megawatt electron beam at an Energy Recovery Linac (ERL). The design of such a target is challenging because the pressure drops by many orders of magnitude between the central, high-density section of the target and the surrounding beamline, resulting in laminar, transitional, and finally molecular flow regimes. The target system was assembled and operated at Jefferson Lab's Low Energy Recirculator Facility (LERF) in 2016, and subsequently underwent several revisions and calibration tests at MIT Bates in 2017. Orientēta kristalizācija ar elektromagnētisku iedarbību

Orientēta kristalizācija tiek izmantota, lai būtu iespējams kontrolēt metāla veidošanās apstākļus un iegūtu vēlamas struktūras ar noteiktām metāla īpašībām. Darba mērķis ir izveidot atbilstošu datormodeli veiktajam kristalizācijas eksperimentam, kuru tālāk varēs pielāgot nākošajiem eksperimentiem Fizikas institūtā. Ekperiments tika veikts ar Bridžmana iekārtu, kurā velkot tika kristalizēts Sn-10wt.%Pb sakausējuma stienis. Šīs lēnās vilkšanas dēļ kušanas un kristalizācijas fronte pārvietojas un pakāpeniski tiek iegūts kristalizēts paraugs. New design and simulation of the ion guide for neutron-induced fission products at the IGISOL facility

Measurements of independent fission yield distributions in neutron-induced fission at high neutron energies are important for our fundamental understanding of the fission process, and are also relevant for reactor physics applications. So far, measurements of independent fission yields in proton-induced fission have been performed at the IGISOL facility at the University of Jyväskylä, using the Penning trap as a high resolving-power mass-filter. In order to also facilitate measurements of neutron-induced fission, a dedicated ion guide and a proton-to-neutron converter was developed.
