Intercalation chemistry of superconducting zirconium and hafnium nitride halides

Abstract Lithium intercalation in MNX (M=Zr, Hf; X=Cl, Br) may lead to superconducting compounds with critical temperatures up to 24 K. Electrochemical lithiation experiments agree with the results obtained with chemical methods, as samples with larger capacity on discharge are also those having larger lithium contents after chemical lithiation. Variations exist in the electrochemical profiles of different batches for these compounds indicating differences in the intercalation reaction pathway. Dupin cyclides are algebraic surfaces introduced for the first time in 1822 by the French mathematician Pierre-Charles Dupin. A Dupin cyclide can be defined as the envelope of a one-parameter family of oriented spheres, in two different ways. R. The scaling concepts for isolated flexible macromolecules in good solvent grafted with one chain end to a flat surface (polymer mushrooms) as well as for layers of many overlapping end-grafted chain molecules (polymer brushes) are introduced. Monte Carlo attempts to test these concepts are briefly reviewed. Then the extension of these concepts to polymer brushes grafted to the interior of a cylinder surface is discussed. Competition between surface reaction and diffusion of gold deposited onto ZrTe3

Abstract Surface reaction and diffusion of gold, deposited onto the (0 0 1) ZrTe 3 van der Waals (vdW) surface, is studied by transmission electron and scanning tunneling microscopy. It is shown that both processes compete at temperatures as low as room temperature. In case of diffusion the deposited gold mostly disappears from the surface and intercalates into the vdW gaps of the substrate. Residual unreacted gold agglomerates are rather mobile and are often displaced by the scanning tip along the [1 0 0] direction of the substrate. Detailed venom reservoir and venom gland intima morphology has been investigated in reprsentatives of 84 genera and 10 subfamilies of Braconidae with particular reference to the Doryctinac, basal cyclostomes and related groups including the Opiinae, Alysiinae and Rogadinae sens. lat. The Taxon Rasivalva (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in the Palaearctic Region and Description of Rasivalva pyrenaica New Species from Andorra

Rasivalva appears to be an uncommon genus, although it is nearly cosmopolitan with the exception of the Australian continent. Five species have been recorded from Europe and Crimea. In this paper, Rasivalva pyrenaica n. sp. is described as the most southern Palaearctic record of this genus, as well as the first record of the genus from Iberian Peninsula. An identification key is proposed for the Palaearctic species.
