Abstract Background Success of trophically transmitted parasites depends to a great extent on their ability to manipulate their intermediate hosts in a way that makes them easier prey for target hosts. Parasite-induced behavioural changes are the most spectacular and diverse examples of manipulation. Most of the studies have been focused on individual behaviour of hosts including fish. We suggest that agonistic interactions and territoriality in fish hosts may affect their vulnerability to predators and thus the transmission efficiency of trophically transmitted parasites. The three wives problem and Shapley value

We examine the Talmudic three wives problem, which is a generalization of the Talmudic contested garment problem solved by Aumann and Maschler (1985) using coalitional procedure. This problem has many practical applications. In an attempt to unify all Talmudic methods, Guiasu (2010, 2011) asserts that it can be explained in terms of “run-to-the-bank”, that is, of Shapley value in a “cumulative game”. It can be challenged because the coalitional procedure yields the same result as the nucleolus, which corresponds to a “dual game”. Przedmiotem artykułu jest sposób funkcjonowania w obiegu społecznym pamięci o powstaniach śląskich. Ważną rolę pełnią tu opowieści byłych powstańców, które ze względu na dystans czasowy podlegają folkloryzacji i fabularyzacji (do narracji włączane są wydarzenia późniejsze, związane na przykład z przeżyciami z czasów II wojny światowej). Wspomnienia drukowane są w antologiach, zrealizowano również projekt Filmowa encyklopedia powstań śląskich, gdzie o życiu powstańców opowiadają ich potomkowie. Wiedza o powstaniach popularyzowana jest także przez organizowanie konkursów dla młodzieży, przedstawianie rekonstrukcji historycznych, spotkania i wystawy. This paper addresses the educational hackthon as innovation pedagogy method for teaching fuzzy front end of innovation (FFEI) in higher education institutions (HEIs). Specifically it focuses on the process design and execution. Tutkielmassani tarkastelen W.B. Gallien teoriaa essentiaalisesti kiistettävistä käsitteistä. Gallien vuonna 1956 julkaiseman merkittävän artikkelin ”Essentially Contested Concepts” jälkeen teoria essentiaalisesti kiistettävistä käsitteistä on saanut osakseen laajaa huomiota keskenään hyvinkin erilaisista lähtökohdista asiaa lähestyviltä teoreetikoilta.
