Motivation zur psychosomatisch-psychotherapeutischen Bearbeitung von beruflichen Belastungen - Entwicklung und Validierung eines Fragebogens
2005
Background There is a lack of questionnaires assessing the motivation of inpatients to scrutinize occupational stresses and deal with them as part of their psychotherapeutic treatment. Work-related stress contributes significantly to the development of mental disorders. Vocational reintegration is an outcome criterion for the success of vocational rehabilitation. Patients are often not motivated for dealing with occupational stresses during inpatient medical rehabilitation. Therefore it is necessary to assess patient motivation at the beginning of treatment, in order to assign them to specific interventions, e. g. promoting motivation. Method A questionnaire (Fragebogen zur berufsbezogenen …

Musiikin kuuntelu itsehoidollisena menetelmänä stressin lievityksessä
2016
Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena oli tarkastella musiikin kuuntelua stressin lievityksessä arkipäivässä. Musiikin kuuntelun on todettu lievittävän stressiä tehokkaasti mutta aiemmat tutkimukset aiheesta ovat olleet lähinnä määrällisiä. Tässä tutkimuksessa aihetta lähestyttiin laadullisin menetelmin, jossa pyrittiin stressin lievityksen osalta kartoittamaan musiikillisten piirteiden lisäksi myös ihmisten kokemuksia aiheesta. Tutkimus toteutettiin haastattelemalla neljää henkilöä, jotka kuuntelivat musiikkia arkipäivässään stressin lievitykseen. Haastatteluaineisto analysoitiin sisällönanalyysin keinoin. Tutkimustulosten myötä havaittiin, että stressin lievityksessä musiikin tärkeimmät piirteet…
La valutazione psicologica nei contesti della salute
2015
Culture beats gender? The importance of controlling for identity- and parenting-related risk factors in adolescent psychopathology.
2017
This study analyzed the unique effects of gender and culture on psychopathology in adolescents from seven countries after controlling for factors which might have contributed to variations in psychopathology. Due to variations in stress perception, coping style and maternal behavior, these covariates were partialed out before the psychopathology scores were subjected to…

Factors Contributing to Different Agency in Work and Study
2013
Most young adults today are following longer educational tracks and postpone entrance into the workforce. This 2-year study aimed to determine factors contributing to occupational self-efficacy in a representative sample of n = 1,891 young adults ( M = 23.92, SD = 2.17 years) with different work statuses (studying, in an apprenticeship, employed, or unemployed). Occupational identity, perceived work quality, the ability to cope with work stress, and symptomatology were assessed. Path analyses revealed that work status was the most important predictor of later occupational self-efficacy, with employment showing the strongest prediction of later agency in the professional domain. Ruminative e…
The Benefits of Believing in Chance or Fate: External Locus of Control as a Protective Factor for Coping with the Death of a Spouse
2010
The death of a spouse is an extremely stressful life event that consequently causes a large drop in life satisfaction. Reactivity to the loss, however, varies markedly, a phenomenon that is currently not well understood. Because lack of controllability essentially contributes to the stressful nature of this incident, the authors analyzed whether individual differences in belief in external control influence the coping process. To examine this issue, widowed individuals ( N = 414) from a large-scaled panel study were followed for the 4 years before and after the loss by using a latent growth model. Results showed that belief in external control led to a considerably smaller decline in life …
