This Master’s thesis is a study in utopianism at the Punta Mona Sustainable Living and Education Centre, an ecological community of North Americans living on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The mission statement of Punta Mona is to show “sustainability” as a lived reality and to inspire individuals to return to mainstream society to enact change towards a more “eco-conscious” world. Knowledge management and intellectual capital in the business model innovation of Costa Rican manufacturing firms

Abstract The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of knowledge management and intellectual capital on the ability of companies to generate business model innovation. To evaluate the proposed hypotheses, we surveyed a final sample of 100 Costa Rican manufacturing companies and analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that knowledge management positively contributes to the development of business model innovations. New discoveries in New World Atissini as revealed in revision of Pelignellus Sturtevant & Wheeler (Diptera: Ephydridae)

Pelignellus is resurrected from synonymy with Atissa and is revised. The genus and both included species—P. subnudus Sturtevant & Wheeler from the USA (California) and P. freidbergi n. sp. from Central America (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama)—are described with an emphasis on structures of the male terminalia, which are fully illustrated. The species are keyed and their distribution data are provided. For perspective and to facilitate recognition of genera and species, the tribe Atissini is diagnosed and a key to genera is provided.

Questa passa inevitabilmente attraverso una nuova definizione dell’asse viario di via Mesina Marine, che negli anni ha perso il suo ruolo urbano di asse litoraneo di connessione della città con le borgate marinare a sud, trasformandosi nell’asse privilegiato di accesso al porto di Palermo.

In this article, taking my cue from the insightful analyses contained in the book The Legacy of Pluralism, by Mariano Croce and Marco Goldoni, I reconstruct in outline Costantino Mortati’s conceptions of the law as a legal order and of the material constitution. I focus on the problems pointed out by Croce and Goldoni: the emergence of legal normativity, the problem of radical pluralism, and the role of jurists vis-à-vis politics.
