Building Brand Equity via Product Quality

Abstract A practical approach is proposed to building brand equity via product quality. It identifies the relevant marketing activities and determines the extent to which these activities contribute to brand equity. Specifically, the proposed brand equity model relates marketing activities to brand equity. This indicates a practical way to assess the importance and adequacy of a company's daily operation in contributing to its brand equity. The importance-efficiency mix further provides management with feasible suggestions on adjusting their marketing activities. Evolution of microbiological and chemical parameters during red wine making with extended post-fermentation maceration.

Abstract The aim of the present work was to investigate the microbiological, chemical, and sensory characteristics of red wine subjected to post-fermentation maceration that was extended to 90 days. For this purpose, the ‘Aglianico di Taurasi’ grape was used as a case study. The total yeast concentration increased until day 40 of maceration and decreased thereafter, whereas the concentration of lactic acid bacteria slightly increased. Dekkera/Brettanomyces spp. and acetic acid bacteria were not detected. The complex formation of a tetraammonium C1-resorcinarene (R+4HCl) was studied using electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (ESI-FTICR) mass spectrometry. Although R+4HCl easily loses its counter ions in the ESI process, a neutral self-assembled structure with an intramolecular circular hydrogen-bonded 16-membered -N(+)-H ... X(-) ... H-N(+)- array with ammonium ion as the charge-giving species was observed in the gas phase. In addition to chloride, several other counter ions were also studied. Determination of particle number and brightness using a laser scanning confocal microscope operating in the analog mode

We describe a method to obtain the brightness and number of molecules at each pixel of an image stack obtained with a laser scanning microscope. The method is based on intensity fluctuations due to the diffusion of molecules in a pixel. For a detector operating in the analog mode, the variance must be proportional to the intensity. Once this constant has been calibrated, we use the ratio between the variance and the intensity to derive the particle brightness. Then, from the ratio of the intensity to the brightness we obtain the average number of particles in the pixel. In this paper, we present a study of a group of cooper and bronze objects that were found by chance in the Bronze Age village of L’Arbocer (Font de la Figuera, Valencia). The main aims are the description of the objects and the results of the X Ray Fluorescence analyses. Moreover; a short fieldwork season has been carried out, which has allowed us to determine the archaeological context of the metals and to establish their connection with a possible area of metallurgical activity. In this paper, a low-time-consuming and low-cost sensorless-control algorithm for high-dynamic performance permanent-magnet synchronous motors, both surface and internal permanent-magnet mounted for position and speed estimation, is introduced, discussed, and experimentally validated. “Three-level shock” in ablation-refractory paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

His-bundle ablation is a very effective method to control drug-refractory supraventricular arrhythmias. We present a 69-year-old woman with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, in whom several attempts of unipolar and bipolar His-bundle ablation were ineffective. Ultimately a stable 2/1 atrioventricular block was induced when three successive shocks of 400 W were applied. The first shock was given in that position with the largest His-potential deflection. The other two shocks were applied at catheter positions more distal and more proximal from the first one, respectively. We suppose that the initial lack of success was due to an atypical atrioventricular junction anatomy.

Search for Gravitational-wave Signals Associated with Gamma-Ray Bursts during the Second Observing Run of Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo

We present the results of targeted searches for gravitational-wave transients associated with gamma-ray bursts during the second observing run of Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo, which took place from 2016 November to 2017 August. We have analyzed 98 gamma-ray bursts using an unmodeled search method that searches for generic transient gravitational waves and 42 with a modeled search method that targets compact-binary mergers as progenitors of short gamma-ray bursts. Both methods clearly detect the previously reported binary merger signal GW170817, with p-values of <9.38 10-6 (modeled) and 3.1 10-4 (unmodeled).
