The Italian reception of Benda’s «Ariadne auf Naxos» and «Medea»: fascination and compromise

The monodramas “Ariadne auf Naxos” and “Medea” by the Czech composer Jiří Antonín Benda had an interesting and little known circulation in Italy, where they were translated, performed and adapted to local taste. Both the works were performed in Naples, in 1783 and in 1790 respectively, thanks to Norbert Hadrava, an officer in the Austrian army with a great passion for German music. The article demonstrates that Hadrava presented the two pièces on the stage of Teatro de’ Fiorentini with the original music by Benda, obtaining a large success. · The Novel as an End. A Comparative Study of the Works of Walter Siti and Michel Houellebecq · This essay questions the possibility of a comparative study of Siti and Houellebecq’s works. It identifies a point of contact in the common representation of the End as a preferred lens for the study of the individual: both authors represent contemporary society from a strong apocalyptic point of view. The relationships between the two authors are analyzed starting from the recognition of three thematic areas: the link between sex and money in the representation of desire; the disappearance of a religious horizon, followed by the most total nihilism; and a deliberately immoralist way of narrating.

Lo scopo del presente studio è stato quello di studiare gli effetti della “terapia multisistemica in acqua” (TMA) sulle abilità grossomotorie e cognitive in bambini con disturbo dello spettro autistico. Le attività hanno coinvolto sei soggetti e si sono svolte attraverso la “pianificazione” di un intervento individualizzato e interpersonale volto a ridurre i sintomi e migliorare le capacità comunicative e relazionali del bambino avvalendosi degli ambienti strutturati delle piscine pubbliche.
