Invalid Syntax: NooJ Assisted Automatic Detection of Errors in Auxiliaries and Past Participles in Italian

The work targets two areas of Italian morphosyntax: auxiliary selection (AS) and past participle agreement (PPA). In selecting such inflectional morphemes, learners of Italian commit frequent errors, even after a long period of constant study. We aim to enclose AS and PPA within the boundaries of NLP in order that a tool can be developed with a twofold purpose: first, it helps experts to build specific computer drills regarding AS and PPA; second, it assists self-taught learners in verifying whether their periphrastic sentences in Italian are well-turned. Development of the optical multiplexer board prototype for data acquisition in TileCal experiment

The optical multiplexer board is one of the elements present in the read out chain of the tile calorimeter in ATLAS experiment. Due to radiation effects, two optical fibers with the same data come out from the front end boards to this board, which has to decide in real time which one carries good data and pass them to the read out driver motherboard for processing. This paper describes the design and tests of the first prototype, implemented as a 6U VME64x slave module, including both hardware and firmware aspects. The ATLAS muon Cathode Strip Chamber (CSC) backend readout system has been upgraded during the LHC 2013-2015 shutdown to be able to handle the higher Level-1 trigger rate of 100 kHz and the higher occupancy at Run 2 luminosity. The readout design is based on the Reconfigurable Cluster Element (RCE) concept for high bandwidth generic DAQ implemented on the Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture (ATCA) platform. Sponges (Porifera) represent the evolutionary oldest metazoan phylum still extant today. They have developed a complex Bauplan, based on the existence of structural and regulatory molecules; many of these have been cloned and analyzed in the past years. The demosponge Suberites domuncula has been used as a suitable model to demonstrate that these animals not only possess an adaptive immune response on the level of cytokines, but also, as pointed out here, on the level of synthesis of bioactive alkyl-lipid derivatives.
