Salinization is a progressive soil and water degradation process. Soil salinity can be natural or induced by human affecting aquifers and the most productive irrigated agroecosystems in arid and semiarid regions, representing an increasing environmental concern. Root zone soil salinity can be managed using advanced tools and adjusting irrigation application and using the concept of leaching requirement. Modeling the reactive transport in soil uses simplified representations of the reality, but can reveal complex interrelations of properties of the system under study, and is best suited for drawing scenarios for investigating “what-if…” questions. This paper reports the investigation carried out on the occurrence of Cryptosporidium and Giardia (oo)cysts in water samples of two municipal treatment plants, and in surface water and ground water wells of the province of Palermo. The wastewater samples taken before and after treatment process were assayed over the course of one year Giardia cysts were detected in all samples throught the year at higher concentration levels than Cryptosporidium oocysts, with a peak observed in spring. The overall removal efficiency of (oo)cysts in the treatment plants was about of 90%. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää, tarjoavatko yläkoulun 7. luokan oppimateriaalien kielioppitehtävät oppilaille mahdollisuuden uusien sanojen oppimiseen tai omaksumiseen sisällyttämällä kielioppitehtäviin oppilaille entuudestaan tuntemattomia sanoja, vai onko kielioppitehtävien sanasto oppilaille entuudestaan tuttua. Freshwater pearl mussel Margaritifera margaritifera is endangered throughout its range of distribution in Europe. In some rivers M. margaritifera may co-occur with the duck mussel Anodonta anatina. Brown trout Salmo trutta serves as suitable fish host for both mussel species. Thus it is possible that exposure of brown trout to A. anatina glochidia might increase resistance of fish against M. margaritifera glochidia. The aim was to test this ‘cross immunity hypothesis’. Brown trout were immunized by duck mussel (Anodonta anatina) glochidia in late May. National audience; L'objet de ce travail est de vérifier si la prime payée par les acquéreurs est fonction de leur stratégie. Notre étude empirique porte sur 237 acquisitions d'entreprises évoluant dans des secteurs de haute technologie, cotées au Nasdaq, entre mars 1997 et mars 2003. Nous ne confirmons pas l'hypothèse d'une prime plus faible en cas de diversification internationale ou de diversification des activités.
