A Collective Binomial Learning Methodology

2013

In second-language learning, learners frequently have a poor environment for speaking and hearing the target language. Learning efficiency is thus limited. We propose a methodology involving the creation of temporary social structures. Collective interactions fed back among individuals and environment are constructed on a computer and practiced in a real world. A dynamic learning system which coherently ties together the practitioner’s design, the learner’s performance and the researcher’s theories is possible. Our results call for language learning structures to include adaptive spoken structures, in contrast with existing educational systems.

L'enseignement des langues à l'école élémentaire

International audience; Ce rapport est basé sur une enquête longitudinale qui a consisté à suivre pendant deux ans un échantillon de 1500 élèves entrant au collège. Certains de ces élèves avaient bénéficié d'un enseignement de l'anglais à l'école primaire dans le cadre d'une expérimentation mise en place par le ministère de l'Éducation nationale, d'autres débutaient cet apprentissage au collège. DAQs-based wattmeters for high accuracy measurements. Comparison with the Italian power primary standard

Abstract This paper is focused on the use of data acquisition boards (DAQs) for the development of high accuracy PC-based instruments for the measurements of electrical power. The proposed systems are simple, portable and low cost because they are based on commercial data acquisition boards (DAQs) connected to a common personal computer. Data processing is carried out by a commercial software based on an interpolating windowed FFT. In the paper it is shown how the voltage can be sensed directly, thanks to the DAQ input range, thus avoiding expensive voltage dividers. The teaching of foreign languages to students in Translation and Interpreting (TI) programmes should be framed within the field of Language for Specific Purposes (LSP).
